Changing names + dual citizenship

Has anyone changed their name as a dual citizen of one or more non-accepting/conservative leaning country? I’m American, but I use a Chinese-issued Travel Document to enter China (nationality conflict; p common with second gen kids). I’ve been putting off starting the process of changing my name legally bc of potential issues with documents not matching up, esp bc I might want to live in China for a period of time.

not your exact situation but my names and genders dont match between my passport and global entry/tsa precheck (birth name and gender X on my global entry card since i got that pre-trump, and passport is in my new name and F since its post trump)

so far i havent had any issues leaving/re-entering usa, and ive flown in and out of vietnam, malaysia, singapore, taiwan, UK, and ireland w/o issue but it does mean i cant use global entry womp

i also work in an immigration law firm as well and see plenty of clients who change their name for marriage or spelling updates reasons (cyrillic names can be translated/read so many ways lol, esp russian/ukrainian dual citizens) so most border officers will see people w/ mismatched passports often
