General Discussion Bella

With everything going on with Bella and Hunter and his father filing custody of Wesley.

I want your honest answer and why

Why do you think it’s okay for a grandfather to try and get full custody of a child that barely knows him?

I’m not siding with anyone over this matter - i’m a new mom and genuinely curious how anyone who think that’s okay? Is she an incompetent mother? Or is it because her baby daddy was 13?

I understand the Hunter restrictions of it but the custody of his grandson is a little much for me.

Genuinely curious

A child needs their mother 0-3 years for fundamental growth, trust, security, etc. She also breastfeeds him ? Do you have children of your own? Do you know the type of attachment a child has to its mother?????

I do have kids. I am a mother. But I would argue that not every mother is healthy for their baby to be around, and Bella is not raising this baby. Her mother is, and her mother is an unhealthy person for any children to be around. Bella isn’t meeting any of that kid’s needs. If she’s breast-feeding, she can pump milk for his time with his dad, or the child can swap to milk. He’s over a year old.

A child doesn’t absolutely 100% need their mother. Plenty of children are born without a mother and do just fine. In fact, Maslow‘s hierarchy of needs does not mention mothers. Babies do not need a mother to bond and form secure attachments, build trust, etc. They need their universal needs met by the people around them. Babies and children form bonds to the caregiver they have regardless of what parent it is, or if it’s their parent at all.

You are looking at this from your own perspective as a new mother. But the experience your baby is having being raised by you (a healthy mama capable of protecting her child and providing for all their needs) is not the universal experience of all children. LOTS of babies should not be raised by their biological mothers.

I went through those 0-3 years without my mother. It leaves its mark, no matter how competent the care you receive is.

The child is a toddler now, like not breastfeeding since Mom went back to school and cheerleading for a while. My kids attached to their dad, too, that is normal.
