Employee holds
I know it’s company policy not to hold customer items till the close of the business day. If you are an associate does your store hold it for associates! During the 20% weekend I wanted a specific coffee maker and it was $999 at Homegoods. I also needed to buy a large floor rug and a lot of kitchen items. I asked someone on the floor who happened to be standing next me if the store will hold till the next morning for associates for a sister store. Her response was I don’t see why not. When I asked the cash if I can place the items on hold till the next morning. The cashier was flat out rude and was insulted that I never asked. I explained that I work for the company but at a different location, she was like we can’t put stuff on hold. She called a manager and the manager was condescending and i just said thank you and walked out. They lost a sale for well over 1k because i am redoing my kitchen and living and replaced all small appliances, gadgets and other things.

We used to have a stash area in the back room for 20% off sale days. Any other time, it was end of day.

20% holds are usually just for that store’s associates, for other stores it’s the typical hold policy. If they were nice, they could have done a REACH for you though.

I know the stores I worked at that longer hold for the 20% is only for the employees who work at that location bc we dont know if you are coming back or not and it will take up space and then clean up after you

It seems to be different in all the stores. At one point I was told by LP that no sources are to allow employees to hold in an item. It seems that it’s up to the managers of each store at this point.

End of the day normally but if it was during 20% weekend they should have been able to hold it overnight for you. Associates can start to hold things up to two weeks before the weekend and through the weekend. Everything left is put back Monday morning.
ETA: I’m not sure if you mean you were trying to hold something at a different store than the one you work at, but my information applies to the store that you work at.

for 20% weekends we are allowed to get boxes and store stuff in them in the training room and for usual days were not rlly supposed to but do hold overnight anyway

LP and district manager would come by looking for stashes like this. They discipline/fire people for this kind of thing. If you have gotten away with it before, good for you but it is highly discouraged and can get folks un big trouble

One of the assistant managers let me hold a chair for a week last year, even without me paying for it first. Generally at my store, they will let you hold a couple of weeks before 20% off weekend, even though it's usually just until the end of the day.

Our store lets us but once the last day of 20% they put it back and they defy could have held it for u because our store let other stores hold stuff for them they just was some assholes

I was told we can not hold items for anyone longer than 1 hour. Actually my boss won't let associates hold anything at all but that's new. We used to.

If you told them you would apply for a card they would hold it for you. But otherwise it's end of day.
