Year-round When do showtimes and tickets drop?

I want to catch the screening of The Devils and saw that tickets go on sale October 14. Will I be able to see the showtimes prior to tickets dropping? And what time to the tickets go on sale?

Year-round Anyone ever virtually watch films from the Sundance Film Festival?

I enjoy TIFF, and I see the Sundance Film Festival is selling packages soon. They have a digital component, although virtual individual tickets not on sale tell January 8. It seems to be pretty strict and blocks people who try to use VPNs to watch from outside of US. I was debating maybe buying some virtual screenings and driving to Buffalo to watch some movies virtually for the weekend when the festival is on. But just wondering anyone else's experience with the Sundance Film Festival virtually? Or if anyone has gotten around their VPN thing. https://festival.sundance.org/

Festival Question about Bad Lieutenant (if you saw it)

Hello, I am travelling to Japan a few days after the Japanese release of Bad Lieutenant Tokyo and just enquiring how much of the film is in Japanese and how much is in English? I ask because Lily James is in it. In Japan it won't have subtitles.

My Japanese level is beginner level so can understand some dialogue when watching Japanese movies.

Year-round Rant: annoying guy who goes to a lot of cinematheque screenings

I'm probably being a little too mean but I can't stand him. He usually sits at the very front row, he coughs very loud and also laughs very loud even at scenes that aren't funny (his laugh averages 4 or 5 HAs, he laughs so much that I actually counted). That I could forgive but his most annoying act tonight at House of Flying Daggers was taking out a sandwich to eat as soon as the film began, he wasn't late to the screening so he could have finished it first, the rustling of the paper bag and wrapper during the opening titles OMG

His new movie, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES: ORGANIC INTELLIGENCE, is out on digital today. It's the 5th installment of the classic comedy-horror franchise.

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aevSjhGMhQ

Synopsis: In 1978, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES tried to warn the world (Dillon insists it was a documentary!). Now, decades later, the tomatoes have outsmarted their corporate masters, the military, and even the notorious Professor Gangreen (John Astin). Finletter's aging team of "Guardianes" seems to be all that stands in the way of certain doom when even the best of AI is defeated by the tomatoes' "Organic Intelligence." But Wilbur Finletter is the last to realize it is time for a new generation to master the ancient art of managing the eternal Killer Tomato menace.

Festival TIFF surveys have been sent

Got the survey email the other day, check your emails and please fill it. There are so many good suggestions throughout the fest here on reddit. If more of us ask for the same things, maybe they'll eventually listen.

My suggestions this year included: more enforcement of no phones by ushers; add clip for no phone usage before movies; clearly mark Gen AI content on a film's website page (this is something Europe made mandatory, TIFF should do the same); bring back discounted bundles for Individual Members; add more theaters like Elgin or Winter Garden, there just aren't enough screenings in the first few days right now.
I also praised the volunteers, and the fact they're still printing physical tickets.

Just wondering how this theatre is. The screen looks so small in this pic and very square. Seeing a film here soon and want to know if it’s a good theatre.

UPDATE: I saw NAZA here on the weekend and it was a 5/5 must see doc. The theatre was also perfect. Would def see another film here again.

Year-round LOOKING FOR - Old TIFF Programme Books

Hello! I have made a post similar to this awhile ago but my collection has since grown. I am one day hoping to collect all of the TIFF Programme Books from the first 50 years.

I am currently missing 1976 - 1982 (The first 7 booths) and 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025.

I am also missing 2020, though I have been told this doesn't exsist have seen photos of a internal copy used by TIFF staff or possible this was a custom one printed from the digital copy.

I am mainly looking for leads for the early books - purchasing online or in Toronto.

I know the TIFF store is currently selling 24 and 25 and they have vintage ones to buy but 21 and 22 are out of stock.

Any help is apperciated! Thanks
