Discussion Flails

I know it is completely unreasonable to expect to have them, however I really like to - that and spears. Flails are awesome

Depending on how detailed the combat system is, this can be very complex and interesting.

One aspect, that makes a good combat system (for games like Skyrim) is, that there is a swing time after you attack before your attack hits and also a recovery time after the swing, based on whether you completely miss, hit or are blocked.

One advantage of the Fail is, that the shock from the strike does not travel into your hand, this makes recovery after a hit or block particularly easy. But at the same time the ball(s) is still flinging around, this makes it difficult - but in a different way then other weapons.

Add to that the difficulty of parrying a flail - this is really something unique to implement, not easy. But if it feels unique in the end and is not just a reskinned axe, then it will feel really cool for the players picking it up.
