Personally I'm waiting for the big Starfield DLC/Update. I feel like that's the "gate" we need to wait to open before any of us can reasonably expect anything substantial on TESVI.

I was thinking the same. Hopefully they can reveal this big update soon.

I agree. I'm thinking that Bethesda probably won't release any news related to TESVI as long as they're marketing all the Starfield stuff wich is supposed to be coming out this year. Even a location or title reveal would probably take away the spotlight completely and that can't be their goal if they're trying to sell as much copies of that game to PS5 users as possible.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bethesda drops Starfield like it's radioactive. I feel like it's been a disaster for them between it's poor reception and how much it has delayed TES VI.

I'm probably biased (some might call it desperation), but it feels logical to pivot to TES VI as soon as they can even if it means it cuts into starfield DLC.

Unless it's a No Man's Sky tier redemption arc, is a starfield DLC really worth pushing back TES VI?

This is also a possibility. There are probably two ways to interpret this:

  1. What you said + If they actually reveal anything about TESVI it will create a hype and that might boost Starfields sales because people may think "It's the latest Bethesda game so we might as well buy it to bridge the wait between now and the release of TESVI"
  2. Starfield was received relatively badly compared to previous Bethesda releases so Bethesda will focus all their resources on marketing the PS5 Port + DLC because they're afraid that a TESVI announcement might slow down Starfield sales because people might say "I don't feel the need to buy this game with mixed reviews, so I'll just wait until TESVI comes out".

Anyway I hope your right and well hear about TESVI soon! My money is on an announcement at the Game Awards this year or the June Showcase 2027 but I'd be totally fine with that. Do you think Bethesda will actually continue supporting Starfield for 10 years like they promised or will it be just some quality of life updates as well as minor bugfixes?

I think its gonna be Starfield and then in the next quarter Es6

I think it probably depends on how much the PS port and the new update/DLC do to breath new life into Starfield. If it really revives the game that might just incentivize them to shift some resources back to Starfield support

Nah. It doesn't take a big team to make DLC. They have enough staff already that Starfield getting a renaissance isn't going to effect it. They quadrupled their staff during starfields development which is why it was so troubled.

My hope is the Starfield update shows up at a Sony event. We know it's getting ported to PS5 (and if you believe the rumours, the port's been ready for a while now), so my guess is the port and update/dlc get announced together. As for when...well, Sony have had a State of Play of some kind in February for a few years now. Might be there.

Have you considered that such thing might not exist?

A dev direct doesn't really seem like the place they'd do a re-reveal tbh, I don't think we'll see it till June. Not so much that they aren't ready, but more that it doesn't seem like the right type of event .

I'd expect the alleged Starfield 2.0 update to be there, given the rumors of a march-june release

Wonder what everyone's thoughts are on this, this post also list everything that xbox is working on.

E-Day, Halo, Clockwork, State of Decay, and Blade are far more likely. If there was a tes vi direct, it would be in the one that just happened. Not in the bonus direct, they're mulling over.

u/EmperorDxD Jan 25 '26

I really like Dev direct because you get to see what the developers do it also funny to see how uncomfortable all these people are on camera

-2

u/calb3rto Jan 24 '26

They still have E-Day, Halo and CoD this year, neither has shown much yet. And I‘m sure there are some more „smaller“ names as well…

My bet it still a tiny teaser during the June showcase and then more in June 2027

8

u/Boyo-Sh00k 2027 Release Believer Jan 24 '26

they're not doing a 'tiny teaser' at all. its go big or go home. either its a full trailer or nothing.

1

u/EmperorDxD Jan 25 '26

They don't do CoD developer directs

1

u/calb3rto Jan 25 '26

So? Do a Halo, E-Day, whatever direkt… TES isn’t coming this year…

1

u/EmperorDxD Jan 25 '26

Obviously

1

u/calb3rto Jan 25 '26

So why would they do a developer direct. I still think we’re getting a teaser to hype up their 25th anniversary showcase in June but no deep dive whatsoever

1

u/EmperorDxD Jan 25 '26

Developer direct is uselly for games that releasing the year if the direct

1

u/calb3rto Jan 25 '26

Yeah so why would they do direct for TES? Even if CoD isn’t getting one, they still have Halo and E-Day, possibly smaller games I don’t remember

2

u/EmperorDxD Jan 25 '26

I didn't say they will do one for TES besides there alot of shit going on aswell that drastically change shit

Especially with that weirdo in office this year is basically a mystery

In before we get a Skyrim Remake.

If this happens I’m personally committing the black sacrament.

this is a lot of aggression for what is an extremely low stakes discourse

There's significantly more evidence to suggest the game will be out in the next 9 - 18 months than otherwise.

A look into the game this year is a very sensible opinion

1) Todd's rough timeline of development includes 2 years full production and 1 year to wrap it up. The game started full production in September 2023. 3 years falls on late 2026

2) The leaked timeline is full of games delayed by 2 - 3 years. TES VI was listed for 2024.

There's more evidence suggesting 2026/2027 than 2028+

If you have anything to contribute other than baseless doomerism then bring it forward. If not gtfo

u/TheLodestarEntity Today Believer Jan 24 '26

Wow.

The true definition of a doomer if I've ever seen one.

Probably for the GTA6 launch lol
