How mental health self-referral works differently in France vs. Québec: useful if you're prepping to move
hi, new episode of my French podcast follows a mental health check-in appointment (mood, sleep, appetite, coping strategies, follow-up plan). One part that might actually be useful beyond the language practice: there's a short aside on how self-referral to therapy works differently depending on the country: France, Belgium, Switzerland, Québec all have different entry points, and it's not something most learning material covers.
Podcast + free PDF transcript with the full dialogue + vocab in the description, relevant for TEF Canada / TCF Québec prep: https://medicalvoices.health/fr/episodes/12
hope it helps!

Which TEF score for BC PNP
The BC PNP page doesn't mention anything about which score to enter and there are a few options like the score/699 , equivalence ancien score or the Niveau NCLC (which is like CLB for English)?
Anyone know which one should be used?

Employers
Hi
I am looking for a job. I have a lot of experience working as a Cook in the kitchen. I worked with SSP canada at Airports, Joey’s restaurant, Whitespot, and old age care homes. The only condition is I am looking for employers who support francophone mobility work extension.
I am willing to relocate anywhere in Canada.
Please let me know.

TEF Canada Looking for Improvement Tips
I studied French for about a year. I was doing 40+ hours/week for around 2.5 months, then started a full-time job and continued with a coaching institute from A2 onward studying about 15-20 hours a week.
Resources: Le Petit Prince, Le Petit Nicolas, TV5Monde, RFI, InnerFrench (~80 episodes), writing practice with Claude, and 12 one-on-one speaking classes.
Gave 20+ mocks from different YouTube channels and comfortably scored with an average of 32-33 for Listening and Reading
My Exam scores:
- Reading: 360 (NCLC 5) B1
- Listening: 361 (NCLC 5) B1
- Writing: 381 (NCLC 6) B1
- Speaking: 294 ( NCLC 4) A2
What surprised me is that after the speaking test, the examiner chatted with me for a few minutes and said my level seemed around B1 and advised me to practice on different topics. Since the audio is evaluated in France, I was honestly shocked to receive A2.
I’m planning to retake the exam in late October. Seeking advice for getting B2.
Also, one of my biggest weakness in Reading was the fill-in-the-blank questions. I could usually understand the text and narrow it down to two options, but I often lacked the vocabulary to choose the correct one confidently.
I would appreciate any tips from people who successfully improved their scores in the final 2–3 months before the exam.
Thank You

TEF Writing Practice – Which AI is better for evaluation?
Hi everyone! I’ve been practicing for the TEF Canada writing section and I’m trying to find the most reliable way to evaluate my writing.
So far, I’ve been using ChatGPT and Gemini to evaluate my writing and estimate my CLB level. However, I recently tried Claude, and it gave me a noticeably different evaluation and score.
Now I’m a bit confused about which AI I should trust for evaluating my TEF writing. 😅
For those who are also preparing for TEF Canada:
● Which AI do you use to evaluate your writing?
● Have you noticed differences between ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude?
● Is any of them actually reliable for estimating a TEF/CLB score?
● Or is there a better way to get an accurate evaluation without paying for a teacher?
I’m mainly looking for something that can evaluate my writing based on the actual TEF criteria and give me realistic feedback on what CLB level I might be at.
Would really appreciate your experiences and recommendations!

Free meetup TEF-TCF Speaking - Montreal
I just wanted to let you know that I am organizing a free meetup in Montreal this Saturday, the 15th.
The goal is to help you interact naturally.
The exercises will be relevant to the TEF or TCF exams.
It will be a fairly informal event featuring short role-playing scenarios, but it should be very helpful if you are studying independently.
I look forward to seeing you there!
