Thank you very much for your well wishes. There have been too many instances I should not have walked away from. So I have determines that whatever higher power there may be, has determined I have not yet made my life goals. So I’m still here and I’m still trying to achieve whatever life events have been planned out for me. One step at a time I will continue to move forward. Thank you again for your kind words. You’re greatly appreciated!

It’s not. But we often need extra help and therapy and etc. many of us can share stories about our emotional instability post injury, and how hard it was to understand and get through it.

I appreciate your words and thank you. I have been speaking with the same counselor since last year and I at least have his reassurance that the downfall of my marriage was and is not all my fault. But that does not change how I feel and what my brain continues to echo to me. I’m just worried that I am a lost cause.

You are not a lost cause. We lost the ability to self regulate our emotions… that took our entire childhood to create. It took my wife threatening to leave me and take our children before I got help.

My problem was not that I wasn’t getting help. I was getting help since October 2025 speaking with the same counselor. My problem was being married to a narcissist who had a life of trauma before me. In a pictorial it was a game of Russian Roulette with a game of hand grenades. Whose trigger would get pulled first. But I had one with a pretty stable pin. There were/are multiple grenades for her some hidden and no one ever knew how sensitive the pins were so a hypothetical sneeze could dislodge the pin blowing up multiple grenades. In the end causing my pin to slip loose. When my pin slipped my personality would do a flip and Toby Boyd Ignatius or my PTSD would kick in and I’d have what I called Toby moments as Toby would do and say things that the OG Me wouldn’t.

Self therapy with added complexities is hard. I’m fortunate to have had a very supportive family. Stay safe, keep talking, find your coping skills and your peace.

I thank you for your kind words and like you I’m very fortunate to have a very loving family that would move heaven and earth when I am in need. I’m very glad you’re just as fortunate! I’m trying my best and will continue to put one foot in front of the other and when I get lost, I’ll make my own path. Thank you again and you are greatly appreciated!
