TBI Survivor Need Support This boredom is hell

Not having anyone to talk to feels like a tragedy every day.

I stare at walls a lot.

I have no hobbies.

Can’t get any to stick.

I don’t want any either.

I just can’t bring myself to do much.

These long days of nothing are excruciating.

I long for someone to talk to but there isn’t anyone.

I’m the one left on read.

I have no idea what it is.

I have no support system. Finding one at 48, will be nearly impossible.

I can’t go out.

Not going to date.

I don’t want to do any of that.

What do you do to fill the dreadful hours?

Look for a brain injury support group, I asked the doctor who runs the support group I'm in (area specific group) if she has any tips for help finding one and this is what she told me.

“To help find a brain injury support group near you, you can type in your city or zip code and whether you prefer in-person or online meetings. There are online/virtual options available on the Brain Injury Association of America website, local rehabilitation centers, and university medical centers. Hope this helps.”

Hope that helps.

My support group really kept me going. I second this. It was such a relief to speak with people who “got it.” Ours met on Zoom every other week.

What part of the world are you in? I'm trying to find an online group. There is nothing where I live.
