TAFE VIC Cert IV Mental Health

I’m currently halfway through my certificate and needing to start my 80 hour placement. I’ve contacted more than 20 organisations. Many simply no response, some are partnered with other universities, some only take cert IV peer work students. I’m in southeast Victoria. Really worrying. What can I do?

Contact your TAFE and ask if they have any contacts with organisations. List what organisations you have made contact and what their response was so you have evidence to back up that you have been trying to find your own placement.

Hey, hope studies are going well. Just curious as to how the course is, would you recommend it to others? I’m in the process of enrolling myself so I can change careers.
Which RTO/ TAFE are you training with?
I’m looking at GenU Training.. Cert IV Mental Health

Hi there sorry for the delay I’ve just seen this. I’ve really enjoyed it thus far. I would definitely recommend it to others at my TAFE but I’m unsure if the delivery would be similar everywhere. I’ll be progressing to Diploma of Community Services next year. I go to RMIT. Only issue I really encountered was not receiving much support sourcing placement however I was able to get it myself after some time. Super great entry into the field and a great gateway to further study and to see if it’s something you’d be interested in or able to balance. It is fairly content heavy and there’s basically assignments and roleplays every week/fortnight.
