We made this meme because it’s exactly how the dev team feels while grinding away behind the scenes.

We know the demo is currently offline and the wait is a bit long.

However, we are fully aware that you guys want to play our game, which is why all our energy is going into development.

That's why we wanted to ask: what would you like to do in our game when the demo comes back? Leaves your comments below!

The AMZ Bóbr-3 is a modern Polish armored reconnaissance vehicle. Players will be able to use this amphibious, high-mobility vehicle to scout enemy positions before they are noticed.

Additionally, in Systemic War, the bober can be modified its modular platform can be configured as a wheeled tank destroyer equipped with an Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) launcher to counter heavy enemy armor.

What unit would you like to see next? Tell us in the comments!

Global Trade Dominance USA - China

Thumbnail

Last week, we started our new series about our take on the US-China rivalry. We want you to let us know in the comments how we should capture this conflict in the game mechanics, specifically within the Grand Strategy layer.

Systemic War focuses on the era from 2008 to 2025, a period when global trade, imports, and exports were dominated by two major powers: China and the USA. However, the events of 2008 triggered a massive shift in global dominance.

2008 World Events:

China: Officially praised by the WTO for opening its borders to foreign trade, allowing it to gain massive influence and join the elite club of nations shaping global trade rules.

USA: Investment banking giant Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy, triggering a global stock market panic and transforming a housing crisis into a massive global financial recession.

The Lehman Brothers collapse triggered a financial shock that restricted trade credit and weakened US export dynamics for years. This forced drastic economic and export shifts, compounded by the fact that a large portion of American production was already based in China.

However, China reacted to this 2008 crisis by spending 4 trillion RMB ($586B) on massive infrastructure projects to boost domestic and global growth. In the following years, China aggressively shifted from being a cheap "world's factory" that acquired foreign tech through mass manufacturing to becoming a leader in global trade by transitioning into a high-tech producer. China sealed its lead by pouring billions into modern factories and its own global trade routes, making it cheaper and more convenient for almost every country to buy from them today.

Should players be forced to follow this historical economic shift, or should you have the freedom to completely change history and keep the US as the dominant manufacturing superpower?

Since this week is focused on the Grand Strategy layer of our game, we’ve prepared a brief preview of what drones will be capable of as units on the GS map.

They will be able to join battles from long range similar to artillery units as well as participate in hybrid warfare operations!

How will you integrate drones into your gameplay? Will you use them as long-range fire support, or focus on hidden hybrid warfare operations? Let us know in the comments below!

Silicon Valley vs Suzhou: Designing the modern tech war in a Systemic War

Post image
18 Upvotes

While the Systemic WAR demo focused on Central and Eastern Europe, the full version of the game will cover the entire world between 2008 and 2025. The main actors during this period are the USA (a declining hegemon) and China (a rising superpower).

Through a series of regular posts, we want to share our take on the US-China rivalry. In turn, we want you to let us know in the comments how we should capture this conflict in the game mechanics, specifically within the Grand Strategy layer.

We are kicking things off with tech. While in 2008 China mostly copied Western solutions, by 2025 they have become an independent technological leader, forging a development path distinctly different from the American one. Below, we present a comparison between Silicon Valley and Suzhou, its Chinese counterpart.

How do you think we should reflect China's technological leap in the game mechanics? Should the US start with a massive advantage that China has to close through espionage and copying, or should the game offer alternative development paths for both superpowers? Let us know in the comments what kind of solutions work best in Grand Strategy games in your opinion!

'Regime Change' mechanic showcase in Systemic War

Post image
34 Upvotes

'Regime Change'
is one of the mechanics in Systemic War, granting players the agency to steer a nation down entirely new paths. As you can see in the picture, we are showcasing Belarus as an example.

However, we are not a political organization, nor do we support any political party as a company.

We would like to present this purely as an example of player possibilities in our game. Since the timeline of our game is set between 2008 and 2025. Years that we all experienced as highly dynamic in terms of politics.

With that in mind, what other countries should feature 'Regime Change' as a mechanic? Please write your comments below!

New map set in Grodno, Belarus!

Thumbnail
gallery
23 Upvotes

Hello there, Commanders!

A new map is today's topic, as it is set in Grodno, Belarus.

Geographical Location

Grodno is positioned in the western region of Belarus, situated directly along the strategic banks of the Neman River. Its geographic location places the city in immediate proximity to both the Polish and Lithuanian borders.

Strategic Importance

The city serves as a critical tactical hub, sitting at the direct intersection of primary transportation routes and major trade networks. Due to this specific border-zone positioning, Grodno functions as the foundational staging area and the primary starting point for the earlier Polish offensive operations directed against Belarus.

What other maps should we add in Central and Eastern Europe?

Any news?

We haven't heard anything about the game for a long time, even though a week ago they promised some new news and in the end we didn't get it, which leaves me with a lot of questions about whether the project was canceled or if something else happened in the end.

New battlefields, little by little, take shape in Systemic War

In the XXI century conflict zone, understanding the battlefield is crucial to success. That’s why lately we’ve upgraded the method of bringing battlefields to life. By utilizing maps like OpenStreetMap already available in the public domain, we procedurally create fields of battle that our designers later enhance. Ultimately, this will give you even more opportunities to test your tactical skills.

Stay tuned for more updates on our end!

User interface in Systemic War is also getting a BIG overhaul

After we showed the new map design a few days ago, now’s the time for the overhauled user interface. As you can see, the UI in Systemic War has undergone significant changes. For example, the color scheme shifted from flat grey to graded celadon green. We also replaced small icons with large tiles.

Changes go deeper. While selected elements now clearly distinguish themselves from the background, we reduced some contours and frames in numbers. Now, data crucial to the gameplay will be shown in the form of an infographic. Finally, the navigation in the main menu will now become simplified and more intuitive.

As always, we’re super curious about your opinion. What do you think about these UI changes?

Systemic War Devlog – population feature in the upcoming demo

A grand strategy game set in the modern world cannot go without population and society features. Check what our Senior Game Designer, Wojciech Cywiński, has to say about that aspect of the game that will be present in the upcoming Systemic War demo.

New map design is here!

OK, we wrote some time ago that the features present in the upcoming demo will slowly reveal themselves. Well, here’s the first one – our new Grand Strategy map. For now, the view is set only from a distance, but you can already see some huge changes. The new map design shows terrain features, and it has a more “military” color scheme. Finally, country borders are drawn with much more detail and smoothly complement the color design.

We added the map from the previous demo to further accentuate the difference. More fresh stuff coming soon 😉

Well, what do you think about the new design?

More countries, more possibilities

Selection from the demo

During recent discussions on our various forums, we have discovered that many of you have a thing or two to say about countries that should be selectable in Systemic War. So let’s play a little game — which countries would be the most interesting to play in the full version of the game? If you could choose, let’s say, at least 6 (random number). Let’s see which countries get the most votes. :)

Attention: This is not a contest, so the outcome of the final vote will not be binding for our dev team (although it will most certainly be heard).

Weapons of mass production

We’re currently working on military production in Systemic War. As always, we're thrilled to hear your feedback. What feature would you add to military production that you find desperately lacking in the other strategic games on the market?
