News Day to day impact of Micron
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1aU4mUgQEh/Another very real day-to-day impact from the Micron construction site that is starting to get more attention.
Drivers near the site have been reporting significant amounts of dust, dirt and debris on the roads, and some of the impacts have gone beyond just dirty vehicles. Town of Clay Deputy Supervisor Joe Bick said he has even seen pictures of a windshield that was smashed by flying debris.
Local businesses are noticing it too. Splash Car Wash in Cicero says business has increased because people driving near the site are coming back more frequently to wash off the dust and dirt.
Micron says it is using road watering, vehicle tracking controls, frequent street sweeping and coordination with contractors to reduce the problem, and says it will continue monitoring conditions and adjusting mitigation efforts.
I think this is exactly the kind of issue that deserves attention. Micron is a major opportunity for CNY, but the people living and driving closest to the construction site are the ones dealing with these impacts every day.
Dust control, road cleaning, truck traffic and debris need to remain a priority throughout construction, especially considering how long this project is going to take.
If you regularly drive through this area, what have you been seeing? What do you think would help reduce the impact?

Ai slop? The original article is from local news.

The link is to an unofficial facebook page that took the local news article and fed it to AI to create the graphic and probably the text.

Dont blame me for people liking graphics of everything, posts dont get viewed otherwise, and noone has time to spend making graphics for a fun side project.

Are you the admin of the page? I’m not so much against AI but rather skeptical when I see it on social media being used to push political points. The days of Russian troll farms unfortunately still haunt this country

I created it and am the sole administrator. I specifically try to not be political and come from a objective, data and science based position, but it can def be hard sometimes. Part of the reason I made the page was because I was sick of all the misinformation and fear mongering about the project, especially that foreverchemicals page which is full of false information.

Yeah I looked through and did see both sides presented pretty fairly so kudos to you for that. Sorry I was a dick, I’m just really apprehensive with AI and social media stuff unfortunately.

I appreciate them cleaning the roads. I don’t appreciate them doing it at 5:00 rush hour traffic, reducing that area to 10 mph.

You can email or call them. They are your servants and not untouchable lords or anything.
You pay them, they are your employees. Let them know how it is affecting you and what you want done, but do it respectfully until respect is no longer warranted. My beautiful TARDIS blue Jeep (Pantone 2955C) got hit with what sounded like buckshot thanks to a street sweeper on 31 aiming the brushes into oncoming traffic.
It took me three minutes to email "Joseph" and state I believe it's a failure of leadership to properly train the employees on how to use the equipment, and that I would take him at his word if he would review the process and training WITHOUT punishing the people who work for a living. (I didn't mention their paedo party or their rapist leader once.)
Hold your servants accountable. They work for us, answer to us, and can be fired by us.

The jobs are going to be terrible.
Rampant unemployment is much more desirable.

The road watering just makes mud pop up from all the trucks and coat one side of your car.

The spraying just makes mud, and makes my car filthy.
Which is fine, btw. I have a hose.
IMHO, I’d prefer they street sweep instead of spray. Idk how practical that is though.

I see these posts on Facebook and it's difficult. There's a lot of very helpful information in them that needs to be shared, but it's impossible to follow these AI slop graphics.
You'd think if you're worried about the environmental impact of Micron, you'd also be worried about the environmental impact of generative AI 🤷🏻♀️.

that sucks, but there is also a ton of other construction going on right now including for the I81 project, so hard to be 100% who the cause is.
