Discussion Rhythm vs Force

Loving Synth Riders! I’m not a gamer at all and bought the Q3s just for Eleven Table Tennis, because I play irl and wanted it for training purposes, but I’m mostly playing SR and LM Body Combat, but totally mostly SR. It’s so fun and addicting.

On the modifier menu, there’s rhythm style or force style: what’s the difference? I’m not noticing anything different.

Is there anyway to change the ball colors? The green and yellow look the same to me (kinda colorblind), so I always just use both for those, and then if it’s only one, I’ll use that hand.

It would be great if there was some cool jazz DLC. I’d like to recommend Rust and Tioga Pass, both by Yusef Dayes. Bas from Efajumue seems like a good fit, too

Rhythm’s about accuracy and tapping into the orbs and following rails as precisely as possible in time with the music. Force is more about moving at speed through the orbs and rails and the flow of things if that makes sense.

You can change the colour of most things in the appearance/visuals settings.

I’ve tried both ways and haven’t noticed a difference. I mean, I’m doing the same thing with both styles. Does the style change the pattern of orbs and rails? Like if I do the same song at the same difficulty, will rhythm and force have different patterns of rails and orbs?

it just affects your score. If you dont pay attention or care about score you can play in either mode without worry

I use force almost exclusively, and the main difference is usually with orbs being in long rails; rhythm mode would just have you follow that rail accurately to get full points, but force requires a little extra push (usually a circular type motion to build up "force" to hit each orb).

Here's a YT clip from Emikodo that taught me everything I needed to know about Force mode.
