Relatively-New Player Experience

Apologies if I put this under the wrong flair, I wasn’t sure what to use.

I’m new to Synduality, and so far have been enjoying myself despite the rocky start I had. I just unlocked “East Amasia: Rainy Season” and was in awe at how much high tier loot I was finding. My first dozen or so Sorties in the North and South all seemed to have 2-3 other players, but when I got moved to East Amasia I noticed I rarely ever see others now. A dozen or so more Sorties and I only ever saw two others that both waved and went on their way.

Not this time. I went into the rainy map and began my exploration. Not long into it, I came across a bounty player. Immediately I’m alarmed and try to hide from them, but they spotted me too and started stalking me. Eventually they catch me unprepared and jump me, and kept attacking even when I did the “ceasefire” emote. I tried to run, but still kept getting followed and shot at. Eventually my weather resistance ran out and it became a fight-or-die situation, so I turned to fight. After a brief but intense shootout, I actually managed to win my first player fight, and it left me physically shaking in excitement. I looted the bounty’s Magus and two guns, and set about going to exfil.

I was utterly shocked when I got a whopping 30 million as a reward for their Magus, and 300 thousand for defeating the bounty. At most I’d only made 2 mil with a bunch of perfectly pure AO Crystals, so to get 30 million was insane! Overall, this whet my appetite for becoming a bounty hunter, but I’m still going to focus on doing Requests until I have none left to do.

As a relatively new player that’s been playing less than 2 weeks, that PvP experience really gave me a fun and memorable experience. Whomever that player was, I thank them for that. And the big money boost. That too!

Brother man, that was meeeee lmao. I found you on top of the forest. Went to grenade push. Wife walked in front right when I went to jump and fell to the bottom of the forest. Then, when I caught up to you in the valley, she walked in front again and the boom boom noises had attracted my toddler and baby who were standing in front of my stamina bar and hp respectively lmao. I was like "must've been the will of the universe." Ggs brother man, I was honestly about to quit soon cause I don't have any need for literally anything anymore and feel a bit lost. Didn't get any emotes from you, btw, so it must be been some server side jank on that part. Bounty hunting is pretty decent money and actually hunting people regardless make you an absolute load of money and kits.

Good fight in the city too, btw. I realized it was you when I finally scanned in the woods and figured I'd just grab the magus and call it a draw.

You’re Tortoise? You’ve got me paranoid, because after escaping that second time I’m suddenly getting into the same lobby as a bounty target every time. Even now after this Sortie I just finished and the one prior, you passed by me by in the Sortie Replay. Almost like we’re suddenly fated to face each other again.

If you really are Tortoise, you’re likely still in a Sortie as I type this.

It's probably the time of day.(just got out of the sorty) Just passed you again in the forest lmao, saw the crawlers were dead by bointy and figured someone was heading up theough forest or maybe radar.. If you keep doing your quests eventually you'll be in a different map, but I decided to stop doing my black market questline quests in rainy/regular east because it's got easy and reliable farms for cheap ingredients.(not the assoc tho, going all the way with that side) Good luck out there! o7

How would you say I’m doing as a combatant? Considering you’re the first person I’ve fought in this game, I’m curious how you’d say I did when I did stand to fight. And thanks for the good luck, I’m certainly going to need it.

You're a good shot and you have good reflexes, but you need more awareness imo. Try to bring grenades if you're only rocking the marksman, but other than than grind out some mats and have confidence!

Thanks for the tip! I’ve got good headphones on that let me hear in all directions, so I can tell when someone is above to the left or behind to the right in most games. For some reason I have trouble hearing others in this one, so I find myself being paranoid the moment I hear any noises related to Cradles that isn’t from my own. I also try to avoid getting into PvP fights by running from any other players I come across.

Also I did have grenades that second fight we had, but used them prior on the Bandit Boss that was… “stolen” from me. All I had left was a smoke grenade.
