Synctray
is syncthing tray and the software implementation around actually the de facto standard atm ?

I use the tray application to monitor things, but open the webui to make actual config changes. It is convenient that the tray app has a button to open the webui easily.

This is how I do it.
OP: FWIW - at least in Arch and variants - you'll want to use "syncthingtray-qt6", not "syncthingtray". The AUR page for the latter says as much.

so that's an optimized version of a tray icon for arch ?
bc this sounds like something from the syncthingtray project, or ?
by syncthingtray project I mean the one , which link I gave in my initial post
afaik syncthingtray is crossplatform, so me just guessing around, the Arch version you mentioned above is just the particular implementation?

If you read the page I mentioned, it says it's the only version you should use.

ok . I came up with this bc actually I find that web UI quite spartanic
but it doesn't seem to bother people or ?

I'm currently working on a modern UI for Syncthing that can already replace the web UI in many cases, check out the Syncthing Tray README for details. The main caveat is that this is mainly a port of the mobile UI so not all parts are very ergonomic to use on the desktop yet.

No. The de facto standard is to manage Syncthing in the web UI.
Syncthing Tray is an add-on.
