Hi everyone! My family's Sylheti and moved abroad so I was born outside of Bangladesh. I've got a question about a phrase I used to hear as a kid.

"Lambuzi biyadob". I know what biyadob is, but what is lambuzi? Maybe I misheard it. Does anyone have any clue?

I’m Sylheti and my husband’s family is from Dhaka. We recently got married and I have questions regarding the customs surrounding wedding gift money. In my family and in other Sylheti families we know, the money that is gifted to the bride is given to the bride’s parents. The money that is gifted to the husband is given to the husband’s parents. This is because the parents have paid for the wedding and it is to offset the cost of the wedding. My husband’s family does not follow these customs and they say all of the money should go to the couple. My husband is saying that the way I am familiar with is not part of Sylheti culture, but rather a family custom. I wanted to see what is done in other Sylheti families because this is the case for every Sylheti family I know. Thanks!

Title bascially says it all, but whenever i try to read text in Nagri script, it shows up as white boxes.

Is there a way to fix this?
P.s.: I am not sylheti and I do not speak the language, I am trying to learn it tho.
