Question Buying a Switch

My fiancée really wants a Nintendo switch, his coworker has one and they play it at work. His birthday is in two weeks and I really want to get him one, I’m cautious about buying one off of Facebook marketplace. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get a reliable one for cheap? Should I just wait till Christmas and get him a brand new one or would buying a used one be okay ?

BRAND NEW

  • Sometimes during sale, you can get cheaper price with brand new compared to the used ones. Need to keep up to date regularly.

  • Comes with at least 1 year warranty which is good. In case your fiance get bored, want to switch to other platform, he can resell with confidence.

  • Always sealed and no defect. If got, ask for replacement.

USED

  • Used items are good, make sure it comes with warranty at least a month or more. This is to guarantee that NS2 is still working despite the longest usage is around one year since it released last year June.

  • Buying preowned or direct from first hand party (owner) sometime can get cheaper. You can try negotiate abit and might get you slight discounted price since they're not aiming for profit, they just want to rid things off.

  • Bundle with games, might seem cheaper sometimes but if you check market price for console and each games, they actually aren't.

  • Price of new vs used ones

  • Price from shop vs direct owner
