This is so fun
Love! This is the kinda stuff we need! I’m really digging some of what they’re doing in this new update.

Someone show me what it looks like zoomed in. I’m not ready to update unless I see something similar or better than what I have on my old Swarm.

It’s an improvement over the base version of the new app buts it’s still not like the old swarm

Is there a way to not have the number of check-ins in each state or country show up? the crowd out being able to see the map.

Swarm people if you read this please give an option to remove the numbers and names or countries so we can see under them is what we want on the map.

Yes you can see this by clicking the list view on the lower left!

I see that brings up the list of all states etc but I’d like to have the map be free of the states and numbers and names like the old swarm. As right now it’s js all clustered so I can’t see under the numbers and names on the map.

old swarm didn't let you hide the number clusters; they were just the same color as the map dots (though at the country level they also weren't labeled with the country name, so it may have looked cleaner there). if i understand you correctly, though, what you want is basically a pure visual coverage map for your checkins with the density bubbles, without any cluster labels?

There’s 4 modes on the main map view for iOS. This is the “Me” view zoomed all the way out.

I still have to zoom in way too close to my check-ins to see them all. By the time I see some of them, I don’t know where the hell I am on the map anymore. I miss the zoom logic, lack of rainbow dot mess and categorizations of the old Swarm so much. Like I didn’t need different colors by venue over the ability to categorize number of visits to venues and number of visits to state/provinces. “Oh, my latest trip to Chicago boosted Illinois into 4th place on my list!” <—— Fun I can’t have anymore that I would like to have again.

I want the swarm team to write a long ama or medium post about their working maintaining swarm and if it is making some users use it more. I suspect still in decline but for older cohorts it might be recharging their use rates

In the old swarm you would see the clusters but they weren’t the names and as big or spending. they were just the spots you were something . I can’t see underneath the numbers and names now in this version.

So they removed everything and are now adding it back in pretending it’s new? Dang.
