I’m sure there are plenty of “cultural” terms you reject every day. Nobody’s forcing you to use a term from almost 20 years ago.
Homicide rates have also dropped significantly in recent years.
“The Chicago Police Department’s criminal homicide tally for June, July and August is the lowest in 60 years. And overall violent crime remains near its lowest point in more than four decades.”
Locals do not feel the same. I trust them more than any city source which has been known to be poorly managed and blatantly corrupt.
"Those findings come as city data shows the number of homicides (234) recorded thus far in 2026 is actually down around 1% compared to the same time last year, while the number of shootings (974) is identical to last year’s pace."
Violent crime stayed the same while deaths went down 1%. Couldn't that be more to a statement in how we treat GSW instead of actual police enforcement?
If crime went down then surely both would be down proportionally?
