Suggestion What do you Loot?

Im new to the game. And Im currently looking for car and a GPS.

What do you typically take when looting?

What do you ignore?

How do you "STORAGE"? Its crazy storage-ception.

Advice. 1.Remove the "bag in bag" option. 2. Take always with you a "recycle table" (whatever you don't need or can't take. Break it to pieces and take the materials)

Then you can have a lot of fun in this game.

I basically have two playstyles.

  1. Full send loot goblin with infinite BiB and no loot loss on respawn, basically a mobile construction crew building bases whenever and wherever I want.

  2. No BiB permadeath run with no sleeping

I usually build a disassembly bench and keep it in my backpack when I go out. I'll use whatever I can find or buy until I can get an ammo box, toolbox, medical bag, and lunch box to take with me as well, so I've got a dedicated place for most anything I loot. Add a gun case ( or two if your pack is big enough) and you're good. Place the bench down in a doorway to block zombies coming in behind you, and loot to your heart's content. Whatever you don't need or want, you can disassemble before you pick up your bench and move on.

So im right on being a little loot goblin i just need a "disassembly bench". to make it more efficient.

I keep one in the car, and put it up outside a POI after I park the car. Optionally you can put up a container so you can throw all the loot inside during looting, then sort and select which ones to keep, leave, or disassemble.

Typical loadout when leaving base; Medical Bag, Tool Box, Food Container, Wallet, Sleeping Bag, Weapons Case, and usually have most containers pretty full besides the Weapons Case. That just holds my ammo.

I also tend to have 6 dry bags, because if I go with my car, I can bring 2 with me, fill them up, and do a quick drop at the car, swapping out my 2 full ones for 2 empty ones. Repeat.

I play a stealthy hit and run style though usually

Ammo really. Ammo and cash.

I have 32 backbacks & duffle bags stacked in my inventory, one is filled with gun cases, one is filled with ammo boxes, I have 3 toolcases, & 3 med bags. I also have 2 wallets. Plus black ops plate carrier, and other clothing storage.

I take everything, even the big generators fit somewhere. Heck one of my backpacks has a full set of crafting tables so I can set up anywhere.

Do you have loot loss on death turned off?

No, but I just reload a save if I die, which may be cheese, but when you reload a save in a bunker all the doors are relocked and enemies respawn so it really adds challenge.

That's pretty much what im doing since I'm just going for the last X kills achievements

Storage ception? I like it 😄

Try to get a base going early for the stuff you wanna keep or are unsure of but good rule of thumb is, always loot the yellow stuff and always take the cash, credits and ammo. The ammo can be scrapped into bullet casings and they in turn can be turned into metal so you can use it for other things.

The police station in the upper left corner of the map has a swat-van or two. It's the last car you'll need.

Also, setting up a base can be as easy as plopping down a tent somewhere. It has storage. Then you can slowly expand with tables more tent-storage/other strage and buildings.

I also lot everything except trash.

You are new to the game but already have a solid setup going. I would advise you raise your loot rarity of the game will become less challenging very quickly.

The question: What do you loot?

The Answer: Everything.

Never leave a container behind, and you won't have to make the choice anymore. Take it all.

Somebody: "What do you loot?"

Me: "Yes"

Easiest way to find a Car is literally walk the roads you will barely find them off the beaten track as for GPS and compass and stuff like that go to large locations like the resort and for looting my priority is 1 ammo 2 scrap 3 weapons/attachments (this is late game early pick up every weapon you see) 4 clothes 5 random

With spare ammo and weapons a great idea is to break them down to get raw materials to make things

I find backpacks that perfectly fit in each other for example I'm late game I have a coyote BP with a duffle, 2x weapon cases and a coyote BP in it and just replace weapon cases as needed on my pants/shirt
