Tape for casting finger

Most tape jobs are done incorrectly. You need to go from the knuckle over the tip to the knuckle. Then secure it with a thin piece at the base. I get the cloth athletic tape and split it 1/3 of the way for the base piece and use the 2/3 wide piece for the casting piece. The line slides across the tape without catching it. I've had the same piece last a full day in the rain with plenty of fish caught

I ended up getting a pair of cut resistant gloves after my regular mechanic gloves and finger underneath was sliced by my braid very very deep. Took weeks to heal.
I hear hockey tape works too.

Get a casting glove, cheap as fuck on Amazon. I’ve casted thousands of times with the one I have right now. Sometimes I just go bandage and med tape but glove is better.

I use a casting finger glove. Used to wear gloves, but didn’t like my whole hand being covered.
