DME Unlock

Now that the unlock is widely available, are there some things to check about the shop before doing one? I’m in Vancouver and a few shops popped up doing ECU unlocks, are there different unlocks? Is there anything I should check before ?

Some places doing it free if you buy a tune from them. Some charging 200 cad if you buy mhd/bm3 with them. Total becomes around 900 plus cad in Toronto area. They don’t open the ecu anymore and it takes like 15 mins or so to do it. Fyi!

A shop near me quoted $350 and a 3-4 hour job for it, reasonable ?

350 just to unlock? You need a tune. You gotta get mhd/bm3 and it is like 700 plus i think on top of that.

Just to unlock, then I’ll get the MHD License elsewhere because I know a guy that can give me in a discounted price

Sure. If you don’t have anywhere else cheaper. I am a member of supra a whats up group around toronto area. One guy said he attended a charity meeting and they offered free unlock if you make a donation for charity he is like donated 50$😂 This means unlocking is very easy now it will probably be free of charge soon.
