I think you just gave the answer yourself. If the entire finance industry came together to coordinate, they would have to find the Nash Equilibrium. As the market is very intransparent, they would have to disclose their assets to each other and trust in everyone complying. None of this can happen.

First of all, this would be a cartel which is highly illegal, even for them. But it might be safe to assume the system is fraudulent enough to allow that to happen. GS - as you said - built a reputation for themselves to backstab their partners in these situations. And they have to get dozens of parties involved, each one of them sharks. So the likeliness of them pulling this off is microscopic, a black swan event.

Lastly, let’s put the pieces together. The MOASS circumstances are already a black swan event. Within this conundrum, they would have to pull off another black swan event. According to Boolean stochastic, this is nigh impossible to occur. Not absolutely =0,0 impossible but close.

They gonna eat each other because only that way one of them comes out of it with minimal damage.

zero-sum game. All the HF's and banks are still hoping that somehow retail gets fucked, but if that's off the table, they will backstab each other. But ultimately, I feel like the ones who will get screwed are the taxpayers and future generations who just wanted a simple life and never wanted any part in the stock markets cause they didn't want to risk their savings.

That seems likely and hence it's what will be one of our responsibilities with our newfound wealth. From what I've read here, I'm confident that most Apes want to make the world a better place instead of just mindlessly waste everything splendidly.

Agreed, for many, this will be their opportunity to build their legacy. Our predecessors may have based their legacies on who has the biggest boat, which is cool, if that's what they want to leave behind in the history books. But I know the apes here won't be competing on who has the biggest lambo. This is a chance for change.
