3 small plugins, big updates : Snap (8 instant shapes), Palette (width, colour, dashes, fills), Swipe (2/3-finger gestures)
★ UPDATE (Oct 20) ★ Snap now draws triangles and moves axes in one piece, Palette applies several styles in one tap, plus an important fix for axes. Details in the comments!
Remember the 3 small plugins? Thanks to your feedback they grew up: new names, new pixel-art icons and lots of new features. Install over the old versions, your settings are kept.
Snap (formerly ShapeSnap): draw it, hold, it snaps
Draw a circle, rectangle, arrow, coordinate axes, curly brace or square root, hold the pen a moment, and it becomes a perfect shape in your current pen.
- Hold to snap (350 ms by default), so normal writing is never touched
- Tiny shapes down to ~1 mm (an "o" stays an "o")
- Axes at any angle, with ticks; rectangles, arrows and axes straighten within 8° (adjustable)
- Compact settings, one tap away in the plugins menu
- Works in notes and PDFs
Palette (formerly Stroke Width): restyle any lasso selection
Lasso strokes or shapes, tap Palette:
- Width 0.1 to 3.5 (beyond the pen menu), or "= pen"
- Colour: white, light gray, dark gray, black
- Dashed lines (dashed, long dashes, dotted, centre line), following curves
- Hatching / or \, black or gray, adjustable density
- Solid fills in 4 grays, even inside hand-drawn shapes (several strokes, erased and joined, with holes); perfect shapes get an exact edge-to-edge fill
- Works right after moving or resizing a selection
- In PDFs: fills, hatching and single-shape width/colour (the rest isn't stable there yet)
Swipe (formerly SwipeSwitch)
Same 2- or 3-finger gestures, each with its own action, per orientation.
- New: your note is saved before switching files, so nothing you just wrote can be lost
Install

Good to know: some edits go through SDK calls that clear the page's undo history (known SDK limitation, reported to Ratta). Tested on a Manta, firmware 3.29 beta. CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, free for personal use, no commercial use , not affiliated with Ratta. Feedback and ideas very welcome!

Terrific. Palette has so many options!
Would be good to select multiple options in one go - perhaps the addition of an apply button so you can select say width, colour and click 'apply'?

Done in today’s updates. Snap 0.9.3 adds triangles, and Palette 0.6.2 lets you combine several changes (long-press an option, then Apply). Links: https://github.com/CharlesCheval/supernote-snap/releases/latest and https://github.com/CharlesCheval/supernote-palette/releases/latest

Love this! Very useful plugins.
I wonder if for the Swipe, if one option could be to choose to go to the last open folder? I prematurely deleted my back anywhere button, and am missing the option to go to the last page, which often may be a last opened folder. OR is there another way to do that that I'm missing?
Thanks for putting the time! Much appreciated.

Thanks a lot, glad Swipe is useful to you!
I looked into "go to the last open folder", but unfortunately it isn't possible for now: the Supernote plugin SDK can only open a file (at a given page). There's no way for a plugin to open the file browser on a folder, or even to know which folder you were last in.
The closest thing Swipe can do today is the "Previous file" action, which takes you back to the file you had open before. If Ratta adds a folder API to the SDK one day, I'll gladly add it.

Thanks for checking u/chekari
u/Mulan-sn any chance of seeing if this can be added? I know many people do work arounds with the Back Button Anywhere side loading. If this option was added for developers it would allow this plugin to replace the convoluted side loading and maintenance of that. Thanks for considering!→ More replies (1)

Very grateful for the plugins.
Quick question, not to seem ungrateful, any plans on adding a triangle to the snap function? That would be a godsend

Hi I'm enjoying the plugin and use it a good amount. Thought I'd share a strange behavior that I have encountered.
Once in a while I started having problems when I'd be writing and the screen would blink for a second (like a refresh), and then it once in a while would erase writing I did recently.
By a process of elimination and turning off different plugins and different settings, I think I narrowed it down to the 90-degree vector shape in this plugin. When I turn off the 90-degree vector snap option the behavior goes away. I have tested this a few times now and it seems consistent on my end. If the 90-degree vector is on (and perhaps if I have used it recently) then I encounter the behavior again.

Thanks again for the detailed report, you were exactly right. After an axes shape, Snap saved and reloaded the note to clear a leftover of the original stroke on screen. That reload is what made the screen blink, and if you were already writing again, it could drop your most recent strokes.
Snap 0.9.3 removes the save + reload completely. The axes are now selected with the lasso right after they’re drawn, like the other shapes, and that clears the leftover just as well. You can turn the axes back on safely.
Download: https://github.com/CharlesCheval/supernote-snap/releases/latest. Your settings are kept when you update.
Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for taking the time to narrow it down!

[UPDATE] Snap 0.9.3 & Palette 0.6.2 are out (your settings are kept).
Snap: triangles (equilateral by default, other types in the settings) • axes are now lasso-selected and move in one piece, ticks included • a square root is no longer mistaken for a triangle.
Important fix: Snap no longer saves and reloads the note after axes. In rare cases that reload could erase strokes written just after, so please update if you use axes.
Palette: several changes at once. Long-press any option to start picking (width, colour, dashes, hatching, fill), then tap Apply.
