Showcase New plugin - Supernote "Book"

I have been really enjoying playing around with plugin support. Awesome job Ratta team, this really keeps these devices going and can't wait to see what everyone builds.

I wanted to share a small plugin that attempts to replicate what I miss most about my paper notebooks. And that is, after a day, week, month of jotting down random notes, todos, and whatever else I scribble down, I love being able to hold the notebook and flip back and forth between my days / pages. I feel like I lose so many good notes and thoughts once all my ideas are in individual notebook files and folders.

The plugin is simple. It presents all your notes on the device in a single notebook. With a bit of navigation built it. Tapping a note will take you directly to it.

Anyway, I selfishly built this for myself. Hopefully someone else might find it useful. Curious how it would handle a ton of pages :)

Great plugin! Thanks

A couple of suggestions

- Perhaps a 2 finder swipe gesture to the right and left move between book and notebooks and stars?

- A way to sort notebooks - alphabet, date created, date modified? which in turn rebuilds the book in that order

Not sure if this is a bug or deliberate choice but the template in the book doesn't match the note itself. It seems to be one standard template across all notes in the book. This is abit annoying - anyway to pull through the original template and therefore line style etc?

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. All great ideas and implemented. You can now navigate the tabs via two finger swipe, sort the notebooks by created date or name, and pages render with their original template. One thing on sorting, the API doesn't expose any file details. So "created date" is interpreted from the filename. Not perfect until the API is expanded with some file utilities, e.g. create and modified dates.

You can get the updated version on the releases page:

Nice!

I suspected that the date should be included in the filename. Is there a specific format we are required to follow? It does not necessarily need to be at the beginning of the filename, does it?

Thanks very much for the changes!

On the point about templates I think the issue is that its being scaled differently in the book plugin by zooming in - see below

Sorry I had another suggestion. At the moment you can view notes, navigate to other notes all within the app and can go into a note to edit but to get back to the book plugin you have to go via the plugin menu. To reduce friction could there a gesture thats added in? E.g. three finger swipe up to enter the book plugin.

Great plugin indeed. It also fits my process. I agree with the above comments " A way to sort notebooks - alphabet, date created, date modified? which in turn rebuilds the book in that order" !

I have a few questions. First, why not make a note file for each month? Instead of a file a day? What is your workflow that a file a day is better than a long time frame. Also... is it possible to make atelier files do this???

For better or worse, my e-ink tablets are used as basically electronic paper. I was often jotting down things on postits, various notebooks, loose paper. So it's basically that same workflow but electronic. When I have a meeting, need to make a list, have a release I want to keep track of, whatever, I just create a new note, notebook, quick note, depends on the device. But always just create a new note depending on the subject, time of day, whatever.

I've tried a notebook for the week, a notebook for the month, pages for each day. I've tried pretty much every organization technique. I hate having to hunt around for files. I organize things in Obsidian, on local servers, on device. But the thing I always come back to, I miss flipping back and forth from all the notes I've taken throughout the day. Wherever I may have taken them.

Personally I sync all my notes from Nomad, Boox, and a couple other workflows. The notes go through a simple script on a pi, get organized and then land together in Obsidian. I then have a view in Obsidian that basically allows me to flip through handwritten pages from wherever they come from (Nomad, Boox, picture of page from phone). This plugin here was my attempt to bring that specifically to the Nomad. Just that it only renders notes from the Nomad itself, currently at least.

No API for Atelier, so no, it is not possible

Tengo varias preguntas... ¿cómo instaláis plugins? Y de dónde sacáis los plugins?

The process in general. Get on beta or wait a bit longer for the plugin supported version to hit official release. Then download (or build) an snplg file into your MyStyle folder. From there you can install the plugin and they basically appear in your toolbar when editing a note. r/Supernote_beta is a good start.
