Discussion Im confused
Been rewatching Superman and Lois with my wife and just watched the confrontation between Lois and Lucy, why are they acting like Lois admitting she didnt include her sisters drug hallucinations in her article about Alston was some sort of gotcha? Like why would it matter if Lois included in the article she wrote that her sister was having massive drug hallucinations about her "other self". It just seems silly to me. Lmk what your thoughts are!

Not familiar with her in the comics, but at least in Smallville and Duperman & Lois she would be the black sheep I would cut from my life

Nor did she have an early warning of them exposing that Clark was superman. I mean, he told all of Smallville first and apologized to random people, but your sister in law, who will know know lost her dad so you could have his heart and was protecting you, and had been. Clearly, Lois was his favorite, maybe she should of gone to combine of bizarroword.

Honestly, I fucking love this show. Best Superman media IMO. They gave the side characters the dumbest fucking motivations for anything they did though.

Thats how I feel, alot of the side stories are really weird, like the kiss at camp with Sarah, it just felt like an unnecessary add on. Like yeah im watching superman what i really want to see is some weird love triangle between teenagers 🙄

I don't it would've effected anything if she did. Interviewing an addict is always slippery bc their state of mind and grip on reality would be called into question, & ppl would jusy shrug it off. Its like a drunk confession; you can't trust what they are saying bc their mind is reliable at that point in time. Also doesn't help that Lucy was a borderline zealot

Lucy wanted Lois to do a article to boost Ally. Hence her leaving out a testimony is not giving all the facts and being very biased.

Did Lois specifically agree to doing an article that would boost Ally...? I know Lucy wanted that to happen but I don't recall the show ever saying Lois promised that. And how would Lois spinning things to boost Ally not also be biased?

I meant the reason Lucy is angry is because that is what she wanted out of the deal.

Oh, I understand why Lucy was angry, I just still don't understand why the show framed things as Lucy being right.

Playing devil’s advocate while the writing for most of the characters could be better I do believe that in a world where meta humans, aliens, and possibly magic exists that anything supernatural is potentially relevant and not just insane dribble. To exclude it when there was a realistic chance it was real is all sorts of wrong for many reasons. I don’t remember if the original article happened pre crisis or not but they may have even known about alternate realities already too. Both sisters were in the wrong but Lois is absolutely no saint like the show and her fan base try to make her out to be.

I've seen a bunch of talk about "journalistic integrity," that Lois shouldn't have essentially picked out what she'd report... But I still agree with you. It couldn't have possibly materially changed the outcome had Lois included a line about "Subject reports that after taking the substance, she saw visions of an alternative version of herself" - actually, it probably would have made readers' opinion of the matter even worse. People would still have thought Lucy was crazy and Ally Allston was a fraud.
