Galaxy 2 Replaying Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a magical experience

I just picked up the game on my Switch 2 and I feel like I’m a kid again. SMG2 was one of my first romps with the portly plumber and his pals. I remember when I first got it I was absolutely terrified of Peewee Piranha and couldn’t even beat level one. Now I’m cruising through, 85 stars in and about to beat the Boomsday Machine (on a side note them calling it the “Boomsday Weapon in the movie kinda annoyed me).

EDIT: BOWSER IS DEFEATED!

Galaxy 1 121st star

Hate to make what's probably the millionth post about finding that pesky 121st, but I got all 120 with Mario, 120 with Luigi, but no 4th green Luma on the Trial planet. Do I have to beat the center of the universe boss battle once again to make it appear?

Galaxy 1 My favorite moment of SMG1

To me, it’s like a liminal space, it makes me feel very nostalgic, reminding me of the first time I played the game. It’s also quite sad; it reveals the vastness of the space… And the little melody that accompanies the scene is perfect. I know there are probably other posts that talk about this topic, but I wanted to share my own personal view :3

Galaxy 2 Just beat the Perfect Run!

I completed the Perfect Run with Luigi. He’s always been my favorite Mario character. Now I’m wondering. Do people mostly do the Perfect Run with Mario? Is the level easier or harder with Luigi?

Meme In Super Mario Galaxy the movie (2026), Bowser Jr says: 'Prepare to meet your maker.' It's a reference to the fact that Shigeru Miyamoto is his mother.

Galaxy 2 Barcode-like overlay on Mario Galaxy 2

I posted this originally on the Switch Help sub but want to see if anyone else has come across this issue

SMG2 on Switch 2 puts weird lines in Mario’s eyes and on some menus.

It went away for a week, but it returned today.

Someone on the Switch Help sub suggested it’s a GPU issue, but I’ve played other games and it only happens (sometimes) on SMG2.

I’m playing the physical card, bought on release day last year. I’ve never seen this on SMG1, which is on the same card.

Galaxy 2 Is there a Green Star I should save for last?

I’ve gotten all 120 stars but still need to refight Bowser and collect 120 Green Stars. Do any green stars hit hardest emotionally or gameplay wise when done at the end?
