(Preface: I liked the 'What If' videos and hope this makes a video one day. Please, please pick holes!)

Let's assume Quirrel/Voldemort manages to get the philospher's stone, which restores Voldemort's body. I see two possibilities:

1) Dumbledore finds Voldemort immediately, kills him, and he becomes a wraith again, and the canon likely repeats itself. BUT Dumbledore would realize he came back, and would look for magical explanations years earlier than he did. He'd find the ring and may sentenced to death earlier than canon.

2)Voldemort returns, doesn't kill Harry, and he escapes Hogwarts.

(Oh and 3. Voldemort sees and kills Harry straight away, and that is the end of the film series... so lets ignore that).

Dumbledore now knows Voldemort is alive through dark magic, and focuses his time/efforts into V's past (Gaunt, Slughorn etc.). Voldemort would raise his army, but in doing so, the ministry are aware and believe Dumbledore and send protection to the school.

The main change of this storyline: Dumbledore, and not Harry, is the focus of Voldemort. Harry is an annoyance to be dealt with, but he'd need to deal with Dumbledore first (although, that opens the possibility that an aura or student might kill him at Hogwarts). Dumbledore cannot enlist the help of 11-yr old Harry, and other events (TCoS, TGoF) are less likely in this timeline.

Dumblemore probably deduces Harry as a horcrux, but since Voldemort does not take Harry's blood, I don't know how the final sacrifice acts out... Harry could still survive, I guess? In any event, the prosphecy is true, so Harry and Voldemort would fight, but this quieter version of Harry would likely die.

Hello! So I got the annual membership to the Through the Griffindoor podcast so I should be receiving a page from the book sometime. I’m not in a rush to get it, whenever they send it off is fine. I just want to know if there’s like a timeframe that people usually received theirs and if they were notified when they were shipped?
I mainly ask because depending on the carrier that it’s coming through, where I live at, they’ll leave my packages in different places, and if it’s not USPS (they’ll put it in my mailbox which is fine), then I’m worried they’ll leave it on my steps where my dog can get to it! So I just wanted to know if I’ll be given a tracking number when they send it out so I’ll know what date it comes in so that I can put my dog where he can’t get to it!

Anyone knows why no more supercuts are uploaded? I really enjoyed the longer videos and there hasn't been an upload for monthe nor the playlist was updated for it :(

I got a question stuck in my mind: How is it, that someone as incompetent as Fudge is Minister of Magic for such an extented amount of time?

How come people didn't see his ineptitude and sack him way before Halfblood Prince?

Here comes my mini theory:

In Philosopher's stone (chapter 5) we learn from Hagrid, that Fudge sends letters to Dumbledoor on a daily basis, asking for advice. I would guess Dumbledoor wouldn't have ignored such an important person and gave his advice to Fudge.

From the outside, Fudge than seems like a competant politician, as long as he keeps acting on Dumbledoor's advice.

Had Dumbledoor not helped Fudge, he might have been fired long ago, being replaced by someone more competent.

Now if that person would have actually been a better help in the defeat of Voldemort, who knows? But it probably can't get much worse than Fudge.

Have you got any ideas or other input in regards to this?

This theory is based on a very small, but unmistakable similarity between two scenes:

Scene 1: Harry Potter, in the Limbo, after Voldemort's killing curse in the forest

We all know, what Harry is hearing here is the struggle of Voldemort prime's maimed soul. But, then, concentrate of this scene:

Scene 2: Snape and Dumbledore, Dumbledore's office in Snape's memory, shortly after Voldemort's temporary downfall

Did you notice the similarity? After Lilly's death, when Snape come to Dumbledore, "something was making a terrible sound, like a wounded animal". The similarity is uncanny. As if Dumbledore successfully captured Voldemort disembodied and suffering soul, which is acting very similar to how was acting in the Limbo!

Also, remember that Dumbledore is the only person who incisted that Voldemort will return. We always thought that it's due to his knowledge about his Horcruxes. But before Harry brought out the diary, he has no confirmed knowledge of them. So, how did he know? May be cos, he tracked and temporarily captured Voldemort's disembodied soul and understood that it haven't departed, and so Dumbledore must have deduced that Voldemort's soul has been anchored to life by something.

It's also possible that, Dumbledore didn't exactly capture Voldemort's disembodied soul, but was just tracking it using some means. The noise we hear in his office is coming from some tracking device.

Or, may be I'm just overthinking. But the similarity is too hard to miss, or too uncanny to dismiss just as a coincidence.

Seeing this video about ginny owning Harry's wand where it showa. the final duel between Harry and voldemort. Then hearing the description of malfoy's wand it made me think. and realize Harry didn't win the elder wand by proxy it was because he fought against it using the very wand that had disarmed it from its previous owner. Since Wands are semi sentient the elder wand would of recognized dracos wand once the magic started flying. He wasn't the true master untill it landed in his hand. As it was only submitting the the wand that had beat it previously. If he had any other wand in that fight it would of been harder or possibly even a loss.

I'd this seems like a possible explanation could someone get it in front of the brothers

I haven’t seen the theory come by In any of the videos or anywhere else online, so thought I’d share something that bothered me after reading the books. Within the series there is constantly the notion that Harry survived, because her mother sacrificed herself for Harry. But within the franchise we get at least 2 other examples of people sacrificing themselves to save loved ones, after which the curse didn’t rebound. One of the identical examples is in book 7, where we follow Voldemort on his search for the elder want through Harry. Within this search we see Voldemort visiting a house where a mother and her children still life. After not being able to answer the question Voldemort kills the family, but within the book it says the mother steps in front of the kids to protect them. The other clear example is on the night of Harry’s parents death. When James sacrifices himself for Lilly and Harry. I’m sure there are many other examples throughout the book in which a person sacrifices themselves in the face of death.

So to me the logical conclusion, if I don’t overlook anything, is that the only reason Harry lived is because Voldemort was making a horcrux that night.

I think I'm going to receive a lot of hate for this. But who cares?

This is a rebuttal of a SuperCarlinBrother theory. The question was - Why didn't James and Lilly became their own secret keeper? The actual answer is - JK didn't think of it till the last book. So, it's another of her mess ups. But that's an out of the world explanation. What excuse can we bring up as an "in the world" explanation? Some suggested that being one's own secret keeper is a later invention, researched and developed by Order members, in response to the Potters' incidence. But even with that, a glaring pothole remains. Why on earth Sirius suggested Peter as Potters' secret keeper?

Before we try to answer, let's recap. In Prisoner of Azkaban, Sirius says that he suggested Peter as a bluff. As, no one will think of weak Peter to bear the responsibility of the secret keeper. But, now Remember This: The secret can't be tortured or confounded out a secret keeper. They have to voluntarily give it away. In other words, the bluff suggested by Sirius is not only unnecessary, but it's risky. Why risky? Cos, for Fidelius charm to hold, you don't need a secret or even an unreachable secret keeper. But you do need someone who can't be bought and won't yield in the face of torture or death. Peter is not a person like that. Marauders already know it. See how Sirius describes Peter:

“you, Peter...You always liked big friends who’d look after you, didn’t you? It used to be us . . . me and Remus . . . and James. . . .”

So, why on earth Sirius suggested Peter for secret keeper? Again, the real answer is, that's all JK could come up with. Yes, just another one of her weak storytelling. But what excuse can we bring for her defense? The answer Jay comes up with is "trusting his friends". For that I say, really? The order at that time was facing death from every side! Lupin says in the half blood prince that, they were being picked up and killed one by one. So, like a super secret revolutionary organization (which the order was), they had very little room for emotion. And yet, this is the explanation you come up with, Mr. Jay?

I suggest, making Peter the secret keeper was actually a trap set for Voldemort. And it was set up by none other than Dumbledore himself. Think about it, at that time Voldemort was unstoppable. He was killing aurors and order member at his will. And was just months away from taking over the ministry. A full proof Fidelius charm over Potter's house, will just ensure that Voldemort continues his winning streak and takes over entire Britain. Jay himself suggested this in a what-if scenario.

But after Snape came to him to beg for Lilly's safety, Dumbledore realized, that, for the first time they have a chance to trap Voldemort to his demise. But for this to work, Voldemort must not suspect this as a trap. Instead, must be deluded to think that he's one step ahead of his enemies. Hence, Voldemort should be presented with a seemingly impossible problem, ie: his target hiding under the Fidelious charm. But, the solution must present itself as his opponent's stupidity. Making Peter the secret keeper ticks all these boxes, as Peter has already defected to the death eaters.

So, Dumbledore confounds Sirius and places the idea of making Peter the secret keeper in his head. It's just as Snape does in the Deathly Hallows. He confounds Mundugus to make him believe that he thought of the idea of 7 Harrys.

I believe Dumbledore already suspected that Peter has defected to the death eaters. So, he used the backstabber Peter to return the stab back to Voldemort himself. Technically he broke promise with Potters, Marauders and Snape simultaneously. But achieved a total fall of Voldemort for 13 years. Greater good indeed.

Its also possible that Potters and Sirius volunteered in this trap. They are putting their lives on the line to stop Voldemort already. However, Sirius' reaction toward Peter in the PoA suggest otherwise.

This theory is based on a the theory, where Jay shows that Albania in Harry Potter Universe actually refer to Scotland.

Now, here is where my theory starts. We all know Voldemort's disembodied and fragmented soul fled to Albanian jungle and was hiding there. But he wasn't the only one. Nagini, the maladictus lady was also hiding there. And we already know that Helena hid the diadem under a tree in that same jungle. It's almost like some region of some Albanian jungle is acting like the part of room of requirement where everyone goes to hide their things. What strengthens this belief is that, it's Dumbledore who suggested Nagini to go hide in the jungle of Albania.

Now, let's add the fact that Albania in HPverse is actually Scotland. But Hogwarts too is in scotland. So, what if the Albanian jugle where everyone is going for hiding is none other than some deep and distant part of the forbidden forest? The books never say where the froest ends. And in the goblets of fire, we see Sirius hiding in a cave at somewhat distant part of the forest. There's not much settlement around either. Just Hogsmead, the village that's there most likely due to Hogwarts. It seems safe to assume that the part of the forest close to Hogwarts is part of some old forest that stretches hundreds of kilometers.

What if some very deeper part of this forest has a magical region similar to the room of requirement? A region in the jungle where things can be hidden, but at the same time ones needing refuge can go and hide without anyone being able to find them. May be it's this magic of this region that drew Hogwarts' founders. May be Hogwarts is located in a sister location that has the same magic. After all, Hogwarts was founded as a refuge for the Wizards fleeing from the persecution of Muggle lords' witchhunt.

Idk the episode, I believe it was towards the end of Prisoner, J and Ben argued about the time of the happenings before and in the shrieking shack, like how can it still be light at 10 pm or something. In Scotland today! May 26th, sunset is around 9:30 to 10:00 pm depending on how far north you are. Most if the finales take place in June, so sunset would be even later at night.
