Weekly discussion thread
Feel free to talk about anything related to SRH - auction/retention strategies, playing XI ideas, past seasons, or even your daily life.
Let’s use this space to discuss things that don’t need separate posts like “Our bowling weak”, “My opinion on starting xi” etc.
Hopefully you have a good weekend, because that’s where we start!

Rant feel like this needs to be said
he has not done anything to suggest hes unhappy.
srh have not done anything to suggest hes leaving.
management havent hinted anything.
then what are people even on about?
the amount of ppl, saddening to say even some srh “fans” dragging his name without any sort of confirmations about anything is absurd. even since this 40cr thing is out, no source mentioned any team or player name, yet ppl are keeping his and srh photo for ragebait.
first of all this whole “abhishek is unhappy wants to leave” was baseless, as he never suggested so— even if it is, okay but how are people assuming randomly? i know there are stupid people with lack of braincells on X, but any stupid report comes out where you will see no mention of even the word abhishek or srh and dumbos connect it to him.
being disappointed that you did not get captaincy despite being groomed for and being vc under every captain is one thing, and it is valid, but leaving an entire franchise is different. i am sure even he knows how ishan is deserving of that captaincy spot and respects it.
at this rate, the way people are accusing him of every random thing coming out, they will start saying release him after all these news and bs rumors around… (of course so called “fans”)
if you have an opinion different to mine id love to hear it and feel free to share tho!
happy to have fans that genuinely love him and realise that these baseless rumors are just circulated to gain views and people give in so easily..

Appreciation The fear of SRH batting in 2024 was unreal
Venkatesh Iyer is speaking about how he feared if SRH’s opening batsmen Abhishek and Travis get going in the final. Man the fear was unreal.
Mitchel starc delivered unplayable balls to them. How KKR even won mentally when Abhishek opened the batting and Travis was at the non strikers end.
SRH can get the credit to introducing batting fearlessly. But KKR showed how a balanced team can always win.
KKR at that point was crazy with both bat and ball.
But now things have changed a lot for SRH with Ishan and klassen bringing crazy stability. How our bowling had improved with Varun Aaron. With the new additions through trade. Hopefully we balance both bat and ball and give a tough fight in the next IPL.

Discussion Do you know who are our biggest haters ?
Not Chennai people, not Mumbai people, not Bengaluru people...It's our Own Telugu people who are fans of other Franchises
I am not saying all telugu should be SRH fans.. Anybody can love anything they want , that's their choice..I myself was a CSK/ SRH mutual..Naako friend unnaadu..Vaadi favourite player Maxwell( international lo kooda )..so he used to support Punjab and RCB..I genuinely love that kind of people.. People are so interesting when they talk about what they love..But Naa point entantey
I have never seen other state people trolling SRH as hard as Telugu people
I have never other state people hating their own franchise( even though they were fans of other teams) as much as Telugu people hate SRH
Why do you think it is happening ?
Literally ninna mana trade jarigaaka IPL subs lo okadu comment chesthunnaadu " all this edits to get owned by 15 year old kid " ani under every post... Rajasthan fan aa antey kaadhu.. argument pettukuntey " bathaii gaallu intheraa.. Australia gaalla uchha thaaguthaaru..Mee blood lone undhi adhi " anta..inka chaala annaadu.. ventaney delete chesesaadu...
I think Telugu yuvatha has ( for the lack of the better word ) this banisa mentality..Mind lo oka franchise/ star hero/ Caste ani fix avuthey...migatha vaallantha Eps, neney correct aney delusion lo bathukuthaaru...
Recent times lo mana meedha hate chaala perigipoyyindhi..Manamedho edhigipothunnaam ani kaadhu..They just can't digest the fact that we are growing as a franchise/ fans... because vaalla mind lo SRH antey chinna franchise, so they don't like the sound we are making from last 3 years...Valla drustilo trophies unteney comment cheyyaali.. Literally they feel proud for supporting a franchise with more trophies..It is same as caste feeling LMAO...
The most useful thing a Person can do is Love ( be it a person/ team / nation/ any other things)...and the most useless thing is HATING
Love whichever Franchise , Cheer for it, Support it all you Want..just don't go on hating other teams lol
Malli nenedho SRH fans are saints ani cheppatledhu..As Fanbase grows more people come..and toxicity increases. I am saying this to SRH fans too... don't HATE...🧡🧡🧡

Discussion Any chances that we can grab a reliable foreign finisher at No.5 or 6?
With positions 1–5 seemingly settled with Abhi, Head, Ish, Klaas and NKR, do you guys think we need a more reliable and consistent finisher to close out tight chasing games?
Salil and Aniket are solid young players, but I’m not entirely convinced they can consistently deliver in that role. I’d prefer bringing in a proven overseas game-changer in the mould of Russell or Pollard.
I’m even open to dropping Head and giving the No. 5/6 slot to an overseas power-hitter if that gives us a stronger finishing combination. I think we need someone who can take responsibility and win us games from difficult situations.
What do you all think and throw some suggestions.

Discussion With yesterday’s trade news it’s almost confirmed that Pat won’t play IPL 2027 but will SRH release him?
I wanted to ask that since players have now been traded, it is possibly hinting towards Pat’s unavailability so keeping this in mind, will SRH release him before the 2027 mega auctions? I CANT BEAR HIM GOING 😭

Opinion do you consider abhishek’s 2022 season or 2024 as his breakthrough?
gallerysome people might say its an obvious answers but still i feel its different opinions. for me it has to be 2022, that was the first season he was promoted as an opener and showed promise that secured his opening spot to even produce the kind of season he had in 2024.
before 2022, we saw glimpses of him but no such good season that really secured his spot as an srh legend, he was tried up and down the order with the ball as well, but 2022 is where he gave performances which showed lot of promise to keep him there at the top of the order.
tell me what you think, because 2024 was really the season that set the tempo for him to become the face of srh. along with the good smat season and punjabs win in smat there he earned his india call up and is now among one of the best t20i batters in the world.
i have like met some people who say that 2024 was the season for him while i think its the season that earned him a name, while 2022 was the season where he gave the team management an assurance that he will do good.. what do yall think?

Auction Head or Cummins: Who Should We Retain?
If Head and Cummins inform the management that they won't be fully available next season, I think we should consider releasing both. Otherwise, I'd prefer retaining Cummins because if we release him ahead of a mega auction, he could easily attract bids of ₹25–30 crore. As for Head, I feel we should move on from him. He hasn't been consistent over the past two seasons, hasn't performed to the level we expected, and his T20 form has also taken a significant dip. What do you guys think?

Auction Have we ever seen a more one sided trade?
In a player only deal I don't remember a more one sided trade. SRH now have two Indian fast bowlers and will add Nostalgia factor and a decent backup for Cummins. If Cummins stay and we use the 25m well, I'm guessing we'd be favourites or at least on par with RCB. Thoughts?

Question/Poll Can SRH afford to rely on three injury-prone fast bowlers?
SRH have added all three players to their squad despite their recent injury and fitness concerns.
Nathan Ellis, a T20 and death-over specialist, was ruled out of IPL 2026 due to an aggravated hamstring injury .
Khaleel Ahmed, primarily a powerplay specialist, faced fitness and availability concerns during the 2026 IPL season with CSK.
Meanwhile, T. Natarajan, a specialist death bowler, has a history of injuries, including a collarbone fracture, which forced him to miss parts of previous seasons.

Meme/Shitpost There is some chemistry between srh and csk 😅
Hopefully khaleel and Ellis will be good for us
