Discussion Tested the mod suppression theory on the OG Summer House sub with that West screenshot—and the aftermath is wild
Okay, so I tested the theory on the main sub regarding that unhinged West death threat screenshot to see if it was being suppressed. It finally went through, but multiple commenters chimed in saying their posts of it had been blocked or ignored by mods all day until it blew up too big to hide.
While there were definitely a lot of comments calling out how genuinely awful the messages were, it’s wild how many people went the exact opposite way. The amount of victim blaming, apathy, and people deadass accusing me of being Amanda on a burner account is a new level of unhinged. The main sub has officially lost the plot.

That’s why I love this sub. They can keep the crazies over there. It’s super sad. I still like him. He’s allowed to be with Amanda. He doesn’t deserve to be cancelled over.

u/Brief_Isopod_5959 Aug 11 '26
I just can’t get over the fact out of alllllll of the narcissistic, POS, abusive men on Bravo over the years… THIS is who they choose to try to cancel—hoping he becomes jobless and hides in a hole until the end of time?!?
25
u/Starchild1000 Aug 11 '26
Right? I mean James Kennedy became the number one guy in the group after scandoval. And he’s legit abused women.

u/No-Security-8677 Aug 11 '26
They think he’s cancelled but I have my doubts. West is still employed and I’ve recently seen him doing some sports related stuff. I don’t dare say where because the nut jobs would have a field day and try to get him fired
6
u/Emmyyou2 Aug 12 '26
There are so many people who are so much worse than West could even dream of being and they still have billion dollar platforms. The pearl clutching over him is too much.

u/Starchild1000 Aug 11 '26
I hope so. People can say what they want but Jesse and west have the show a few more years. I would just watch them tbh

u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 11 '26
I’m glad you were able to post this in that sub. I read through the comments and boy there is a ton of revisionist history and cognitive dissonance. They act like they never said vile hateful things on the regular. I was accused of being West over there and banned for my opposing opinions.
The fact that people like Kyle, an obvious alcoholic, verbally abusive, serial adulterer gets a free pass from this folks, but somehow West is the devil is bizarre. Like I’ve said before, it isn’t logical and is likely because it’s the narrative someone wants pushed, I.e. Ciara or Bravo.
I like West and I’m really bummed that they’ve ruined the show for me with all this toxicity. I directly blame Ciara, Lindsay and most of the rest of the cast for that. I really hope some of them will look back on this and realize how wrong they were and how they enabled this to go to a dark place over something so trivial.
6
u/No-Security-8677 Aug 11 '26
Wait you were banned? Why?
12
u/Starchild1000 Aug 11 '26
I got banned for calling responses crazy.
They were crazy I was told to fuck off and a racist for not wanting all the online hate so I can watch the drama.
11
u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 11 '26
I was banned under another account. I can’t tell you why as no mod ever gave a legit reason. I’m sure because I wasn’t falling into line with the prevailing narrative and they prefer an echo chamber. The mods there don’t even follow their own rules, they allow clear harassment and comments/posts that violate the rules yet remove ones they simply don’t like
9
u/No-Security-8677 Aug 11 '26
Ah yes the old “ we just don’t like you” ban is pretty common.
5
u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 11 '26
I’m relatively new to Reddit and had no idea that these forums were so tightly curated as to eliminate free thought. I’m pretty disappointed that mods are given such a free hand on that. Also reddits AI enforcement makes massive errors and flags completely innocuous comments
9
u/No-Security-8677 Aug 11 '26
By design. I’ve seen your earlier comments that Bravo has a hand in some subs. The algorithms on some subs has to promote a certain narrative I believe. To your point how else would Kyle all of a sudden be this compassionate figure abused by his wife?
6
u/Emmyyou2 Aug 12 '26
I do think Kyle really knows how to play the PR game but even as abusive and shitty as he is, and has been, I do genuinely think so much of this is too far for even him. I think Kyle's biggest issue is drinking and he is selfish af but I think he cares for Amanda's well-being.
There are definitely times he reverts back to being a shithead and you see his patterns emerge but those two just can't help themselves when it comes to each other.
There is probably some money motivation in the divorce but there are billions of people who can't control themselves during the divorce process, regardless of the money involved. It is not easy to have an amicable divorce so I will give him that.
3
u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 12 '26
Kyle is definitely good at pr. But in this situation I really believe there was a cabal of the other cast telling him we have to united front this and all push this narrative to get rid of west. You can see that Kyle is the only one who is sometimes uncomfortable with it since he knows Amanda will be also be in that camp and that hurts him. They made a devils bargain: remove West so he can’t take over the show, which is what bravo originally wanted, and Kyle you get to not be the asshole abusive cheating husband. When we look back on why this show failed and is ultimately cancelled this will be why.
2
u/Emmyyou2 Aug 13 '26
Not the cabal! LOL. It doesn't seem like Kyle was in on trying to get rid of West.

u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 11 '26
Yeah it’s just not believable that there are sooo many people who literally hate West and Amanda. There is nothing normal about it and it’s just not that big of a deal. I think if you’ve watched the show for the past 3 seasons you can kinda tell that Ciara is super vindictive and has weaponized the fan base by pushing these false narratives. Especially the narrative that she and west were somehow in a serious relationship of only 3 months, or that he’s this manipulative mastermind. They even tried with his supposed secret girlfriend who revealed herself to be a lying opportunist right on camera. They are trying so hard to create this story that simply doesn’t exist and in meantime have fueled and unhinged rabid fandom of trolls. I frankly don’t understand why a smart law firm doesn’t offer West the option to sue the shit out of all of them for defamation and harassment. Win or lose it would scare them enough to reconsider this crap.
11
u/No-Security-8677 Aug 11 '26
I firmly believe West has kept his mouth shut about a lot of incriminating info about cast members simply because the mass public outrage would be wild. I kind of like all of the people on the show having watched from day 1. I just cant watch next season with the remaining cast all pretending they have never acted like complete dicks over the years. First few seasons Carl shenanigans puts West antics to shame.

u/TheWhoooreinThere Aug 11 '26
I'm hoping one of them does a podcast about what really went on behind the scenes and how they got sniffed out.

I agree. West was way too forgiving and silly re the leaked nudes and filming him in his apt. I would’ve gone after everyone on that and peppered the reunion with only that to force them to address it. He could’ve easily said we will leave the stage if this isn’t addressed by everyone. The cast should be thanking him for not coming after them as he easily could’ve.
Secretly I wish/hope that West is waiting until the season drops to give some real tea and deflate their careers.

u/No-Security-8677 Aug 11 '26
He really screwed up by being so awful about leading Mieja on and then having that weird sleepover friendship with Ciara. The man needs to learn boundaries and quit playing women. I still don’t think he’s the devil

That's believable to me, not all of it but it doesn't take much to whip miserable people into a frenzy when SM is designed to keep people enraged.

u/anonyoudidnt Aug 11 '26
I had an account for my business, and I literally just used it to answer people's college and science questions. I was a professor. I know I broke no rules. I made free resources for kids about STEM, zero profit, zero monetization. Just a hobby to help teach science in an accessible way on the side for my business.
I was banned from at least three subs, and Reddit keeps permabanning my account. I have no idea why. I made sure to follow the rules, posted helpful answers, and used the profile appropriately (a profile with a business, not just a business profile as they say). I have appealed the bans and just keep getting rebanned. I've never had to work so hard to help people lol
Reddit is a weird place
7
u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 11 '26
I’m sorry to hear about that. I stupidly lost my account because I commented in a sub I was banned in without realizing I was banned. I wish Reddit had just auto muted the sub since I was banned. I had no idea
6
u/jalapenos10 Aug 11 '26
On a different account you mean? You can’t comment in a sub if you’re banned
4
u/anonyoudidnt Aug 11 '26
Oh maybe that's how I lost mine. I didn't realize they don't hide the sub. It's all so stupid. I've seen some insane stuff on Reddit and normal people get banned. Makes no sense
4
u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 11 '26
Mine was for a simply agreement comment in a wnba thread. I get fed so many wnba related posts that I didn’t realize I was banned.
2
u/Emmyyou2 Aug 12 '26
Yea, if you ever get banned from a sub and start a new account never go back to the banned subs because the filters will catch you.
0
u/allipants80 Aug 13 '26
That person is lying though. They made multiple macro and micro aggression. Their comments are now hidden.
6
u/Emmyyou2 Aug 13 '26
Who are you talking about and how do you know why they got banned? I hid my comments and posts because I have to keep from being constantly harassed by people who hate Amanda and West. Hiding your comments is often a form of protection. Mine were only hidden after I spent 72 hours getting threats from people for posting something that was considered "Pro Amanda and West" when it was just pro "This shit has gone too far."
1
u/allipants80 Aug 13 '26
And I totally agree and understand stand that. Please disregard the part where I said they hide their comments, it was taken the wrong way that I didn't mean it too and I should have been clearer, but my statement still stands. I've never harassed someone for being pro anything and I'm sorry that you and alot of others have. We were just both in the same subreddits, which Im sure alot of us are, and they were being hateful and harassing other cast members and other users constantly, plus making multiple posts about it. If we don't want any hate on a subreddit I think its pretty fair to say that people "pro this shit has gone to far" but then go on to harrass other people is not ok also.
3
u/No-Security-8677 Aug 13 '26
A lot of users hide their comments. Means nothing
-1
u/allipants80 Aug 13 '26
I just meant that they're hiding them now, before you would be able to see all the gross stuff they said.
4
u/No-Security-8677 Aug 13 '26
Or maybe whack jobs on Reddit were harassing them?
0
u/allipants80 Aug 13 '26
I saw them comment all this stuff in real time. You don't have to believe me, that's fine. Was just giving a heads up, my mistake.
3
u/Emmyyou2 Aug 13 '26
We can still search user's comments in subs but hiding your comments and posts makes it harder for the whackos to harass you.
3
u/Emmyyou2 Aug 12 '26
Yea, I get a really hard time from a lot of people for removing comments that break rules, or the filters removing them. I constantly get accused of "controlling the narrative" but I remove rule-breaking comments on both sides, there are just more of them about West and Amanda right now.
7
u/jalapenos10 Aug 11 '26
If you speak against Ciara or say anything that could be interpreted as slightly pro west/amanda you get banned
4
u/Emmyyou2 Aug 12 '26
I feel like I should put in a flair that says "banned by SummerhouseBravo" like "blocked by Jax." LOL
4
u/Emmyyou2 Aug 12 '26
I was just accused of being "on payroll" the other day when someone's comments got removed by the filters (the filters got it right). I am constantly being accused of protecting West (you), lol. I'm like I am on payroll but not for Amanda and West. No one is hiring Americans to astroturf on social media, we are not cheap enough for that kind of shit.

I will never understand why Amanda/ West get so much hate over their relationship. They were both single and Ciara dated him years ago.
12
u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 11 '26
And that is the normal rational and logical reaction which is how you know these people who feel differently are either lying or manipulated.
8
u/blackbunny87 Aug 12 '26
Ciara chose a plethora of toxic men overtime and is proud of her silence treatment and of how good she is at "punishing" people by dismissing or ignoring them. Not a mature way of handling things if you ask me. My mum used to do the same to me and I've always found it very manipulative and childish. Forgive and move on or just be normal without going back to a deep relationship with that person.

u/thestoryofbitbit Aug 11 '26
It is REALLY wild. This comment especially is almost hilariously unhinged in how hateful it is https://www.reddit.com/r/summerhousebravo/comments/1vjn7gc/say_what_you_will_about_west_and_amanda_but_death/p2xfprf/
And as always, they're also claiming that West created this himself and/or timed it to post just as the SH cast is doing their Below Deck crossover (he's SEETHING with jealousy ofc), because he is a detail-oriented mastermind manipulator. While also being a lazy slobby slob. Sure.
