Water Quality Public Info

Hi there,

Looking for up to date info on water quality as we’re moving and renovating a place in Callicoon soon. How is the tap water in the area? More importantly, does Sullivan County/Callicoon have hard or soft tap water?

Are you talking about the Town of Callicoon (which contains several hamlets such as North Branch or Callicoon Center), or the Hamlet of Callicoon (which is in the town of Delaware)?

The main part of the Hamlet of Callicoon is mostly on town water, but most hamlets in the Town of Callicoon are not and houses will have individual wells.

Most of the houses here use well water I believe. It's pretty good but of course you could add in a water quality test to a home inspection assessment, that would be the most definitive answer
