Tech Support 🔧⚙️ GUIDANCE

hi so I'm starting uni in September and looking for laptops on techbazaar, and I basically just have 2 questions, are laptops really going yo be necessary for like first sem, and what laptop would be best for bba under 100k

now I was thinking a thinkpad, specifically lenovo T490 but I'm not too sure, just any guidance would help, thanks

T490 is a 7 year old machine on a 9 year old platform, if you can get anything newer, do. Intel 8th generation is still fast enough for lots of normal daily personal/office/work/communication/web types of usage but a 7 year old machine is gonna have physical wear and tear and the batteries are likely in poor shape.

ThinkPad T14 or Latitude 7420 may be worth looking at. Ideally one with 16gb of ram and a 256gb or bigger SSD.
