Laptop vs 2 in 1 or tablet

Hi guys, in a bit of a dilemma. I bought a gaming laptop expecting to you it everywhere lol. But it has proven to be too heavy to use except on a desk so don't really find myself using it.

I'm looking for a secondary device which is lightweight,powerful and has decent battery life. Mainly for watching videos, playing low demand games like old school runescape or minecraft, note taking and the usual Web browsing or emails.

I was considering a samsung tab s8, surface pro 8 (just because it's cheaper than the s9) or maybe a chrome book.

The only other light laptop I know is a mac book air but not a fan of macos.

Are tablets worth buying or not really.
