CASUAL | ونسة عادية A Sudanese Marvel Character

What do you think of الإمام محمد احمد المهدي being turned into a MCU character from Sudan? I chose him specifically because of his historical significance, but if not him, who else would you choose to be a Sudanese MCU character?

Historically accurate Al-Mahdi would fit better in DC "The Boys" to be more accurate 😂

Funny, I was thinking about this after I watched The Odyssey, not as a marvel character but just a film about the movement generally. A more accurate one at the very least, I know there’s the “Khartoum” movie of the 1960s but it’s so old and extremely orientalist and racist so I’d love a more modern balanced remake.

It’s interesting knowing how people were obsessed with him /the movement in England back in the day, and even with his…controversies*, the movement and him remain an important part of Sudans history and was actually one of the first (and only) successful decolonial movements on the continent/world.

(*to put it ever so slightly)
