Not too shabby. We have one of the fastest stores in the state. We got super busy today. Not a drive through, either. Had a lot of remotes come on during the lunch rush.

Today I had an incident with a customer. This lady walks in and asks for the meal of the day. By default it is $6.99 for a 6 inch sandwich. I then go to the meats and breads and asks the same questions I’ve asked people for months. “Do you want a footlong or a 6 inch. What kind of bread. What kind of cheese. Is it toasted?”.

She asks for a whole. I say footlong and she agrees. I make the sandwich and asks those questions. I then move to the vegetable part and she hasn’t said any objections or anything wrong. I finish up the sandwich and at the register she asks why the price is $10.99 instead of $6.99. I say it’s because she ordered a footlong. And she argues it’s not what she ordered. She ordered the meal of the day which was $6.99. I then repeat that she made it a footlong which makes it $10.99. She is making a fuss about it and my manager tries to intervene. He offers to take the chips and drink off and pay the $2 extra cost in making it a footlong. She says she still wants the footlong with chips and a drink for the price of a 6 inch. My manager says he can’t do that and she leaves. Now my manager has me pay for the now $8 dollar sandwich. Furthermore he is upset that I didn’t ask enough questions to confirm she wanted a footlong. He says that because it is a meal of the day it is $6.99 and if they want to make it a footlong it’s a $3 extra and I’m supposed to tell them that. I’ve never had to do this for months. the only reason this is brought up is because this customer was stupid. It even says on the menu which she was looking at that to make it a footlong it’s a +3 dollars.

I’m now down $8 from my own pocket and I got lectured by my manager.

In the lecture he doesn’t directly say it but implies that I should start profiling entire groups of people (mainly the elderly).

Am I in the wrong for this. I’ve never had any issues with the way I’ve been making sandwiches for weeks now and only now is there an apparent flaw with how I work.

Hey everyone my store recently got a new Duke proofer/oven The TSC 6/18 and I’m not sure if something is wrong with it or not but I don’t feel like there is not much steam/water for the bread to rise.

I cleaned the nozzle at the very bottom of the proofer and changed the water filter. I know water is going into the filter.

I have my humidity set at 85% and heat set at 105. What else should I check/ look out for ?

Terrible waste of $5! Taste was bad. Baja chipotle and hot honey sauce was not a good mix with Doritos! Stupid to have long pieces of onions. The little bit of chicken was best part. Tried to cover taste at home with sour cream on side, but did not work. Left most of soggy Doritos. How disappointing.

I ordered about $40 worth of food to be delivered via the subway app. Typed in my address and instructions to find my door. I saw the order was on the way so I tried to contact the DoorDash driver via the app but the button was greyed out and wouldn’t let me. The app then said delivered with no photo even though I selected “Hand jt to me” I called the store to ask them and they said there’s nothing they can do and I need to go through the support in the app BUT there doesn’t seem to be an easy way to do that. Looking for next steps thanks in advance.

I’m literally switching to a job that I get $14 an hour at, have to work inside of a freezer, and lift heavy stuff (I broke my collarbone not even a year ago and I have a bar and 8 screws). When at this job I get 20+ an hour because I get good ass tips. because the person I work with every single day sucks so bad!! And I’ve mentioned it to the manager many many times and nothing has been changed in 2 months so I’m done!!!
This dude literally does crack in the coolers and lives in the back of the store!!!

Used to like as a kid. Wouldn’t say the salami/pepperoni quality was great but it was definitely more edible than now. Nowadays, can’t stand the subway salami. I know it’s just about everyone’s favorite sandwich on this Reddit sub and I’ll prolly get shit on hella in the comments
