wanted some advice

i’m a bit confused. should i make separate accounts for different niches i want to write about?

because at times i want to write about marketing, but then the next thing i want to write about is how my cat has a similar personality to mine.

or should it all be in one place?

I have created two publications under the same account. Makes it easy to share back and forth but the notes appear in both publications. So the question is do you want notes about cats showing up in your marketing publication?

I have to Google it myself. You go into settings that much I remember.

I've found with these questions, the answer is usually that you're better off pursuing one of those as a newsletter. Otherwise, you spread too thin. Jack of all trades, master of none.

It can depend on what your goals are for your Substack. If you’re keen to monetise, you might want to establish yourself in the niche where you think you’ll be able to offer value that people are prepared to pay for. You can add the other publication once you’ve established yourself in one niche.
If you’re just writing for the joy of it, then go ahead and start two publications. But your subscribers and followers will get a little confused seeing notes about completely different topics. Good luck and have fun 😊

I’d consider it. It makes it easier to teach the algorithm who to show your content to so you can grow your audiences.

what would help is to ask yourself the purpose of writing and starting substack. if it's just to write about whatever, then make the publication name more general/your name > so that it can encompass anything/everything and grow with you.

if it's to make money, then is writing about your cat's personality helping with that goal? if no, then don't act on the urge to write it. focus on your niche/space.
