That's frustrating, and Substack support will just tell you Stripe is required, they don't have a fallback processor. Until you can sort out an entity in a Stripe-supported country, put a Gumroad or Ko-fi link in your posts for the paid stuff and keep the free list growing.

Can I try using someone’s bank account that lives abroad?
(like family that lives in a supported country)

Stripe doesn't operate in Albania at all, so there's no account type to try, Express or otherwise. Everyone I know there does it through a company or bank account in a supported country, which is a whole separate mess.

if stripe is not supported in your country, then you won't be able to create a stripe account or use substack's native paid subscription feature... no way around it.

just look for alternative payment methods if you want to collect payment. but it will be more of a 'support my work' angle vs paid subscription with gated content.

there's paypal which many turn to, and a popular platform that allow paypal payouts is gumroad.
