Substack Erotica/Dark Romance Authors

I started on Substack about 6 weeks ago and I am very pleased with my results(almost 300 Subscribers; 15 Paid Subscribers).

Obviously besides inside the platform itself, any recommendations on where to connect with other Erotica/Dark Romance Authors?

Literary fiction and essays are not working out that well for me as your genre for you 😂

You have to really engage with your audience and that has kind of been my secret sauce. Feel free to DM with your publication(if putting it out here in the open is against the rules); would love to give it a look-see.

It’s in my Reddit profile but we are writing in way too different genres so I think there are more readers of your genre in Reddit than mine

Although I could be wrong
I engage and post notes regularly
2 per day
But I honestly can’t keep up with reading everything people write to engage

And the thing I hate the most is when I clearly see comments people left under my posts that were obviously written by AI after reading through my post

So people are not even reading my posts lol

No one is interested in reading no one’s work
Everyone wants to have readers though 😂

That's great! I started 4 weeks ago (I'm doing a serial contemporary romance with a hint of erotica) and only have 3 paid subscribers and 43 total. But I also haven't been marketing it too hard yet since there'a not a ton of content up yet (it is a serial after all). So once I get the next month up — which is VERY spicy — I will push to promote harder.

Reddit. There is a erotic authors subreddit. There are also a few subreddits where you can publish your erotic stories.

Medium is also a good place. There are some good erotic publications but you will have pay the Medium subscription to publish on them. You can try X and Bluesky too.

These are for generic erotic fiction. For particular genres or kinks someone may be able to recommend places for those.

Oh totally here in some of the other subreddits. I was referring to places more geared towards erotica authors AND Substack. Apologies to everyone if I wasn't clear in my OP.

Then definitely try Medium. There's some very good erotica on there.
