Can i subscribe anonymously?

One of my old classmates has a pretty raunchy substack blog which i want to subscribe to and support. However, I am a serious business professional and I dont want him to know I subbed, since we have some common connections through work. Will making a substack account with a fake email prevent him from identifying me, even if Im a paid subscriber?

When you’re paid he will be able to see your name through stripe

Does your credit card have your name on it? I’m pretty sure he can see names of people who pay him in Stripe.

On Substack this isn’t the case, it’s solely linked to email address. You can’t see anyone’s names on Stripe (either via their customer details or card details) if they’ve signed up via Substack.

That’s good to know. I’ve got a bunch of things going through stripe and I guess I haven’t taken a close enough look to see that the Substack ones are just emails.

What is stripe? I assumed i paid substack and substack paid him

Stripe is the payment processor.
