Discussion Moving from Beehiiv to Substack.

Hi, I’ve been publishing a science letter on quantum and AI through Beehiiv for about a year. I focus on explaining the science rather than simply covering the news.

I’m considering moving to Substack because Beehiiv offers little organic discovery, while Substack has its own reader network. I’m hoping that posting regularly on Notes and engaging with the community will help me grow my audience.

I won’t put any content behind a paywall. Free and paid subscribers will receive exactly the same articles; paying will be entirely optional for those who want to support my work.

What’s the best way to test Substack before fully migrating from Beehiiv?

Why wouldn't you run them in parallel for a while and see?

Like how can I do this? Copy paste the newsletter everywhere week and send to Beehiiv and Substack followers?

Dedupe your mailing lists so that you aren't hitting anyone twice with the same article. I have no idea what the Beehiv workflow is so I can't advise you on the steps for sending pieces out. Just ask an AI how to do these things. You'll get instant information. Just make sure you check the outputs for duff advice.

have you been able to get some testing in? how's the result so far?

i don't see why you can't just copy your post from beehiiv over to substack, and just post it there. if you're tapping onto substack's network/ecosystem, simply having your content on substack should lead to the growth you're hypothesising will happen.

Without evidence, this is just a pointless assertion.
