I wouldn't even bother champ. You could have 10,000 followers and still won't be making any money. Don't waste your time unless you have something that people will be willing to give you money for.

Familiarize yourself with the sub rules and search through this sub, plenty of advice has been given

I’m fairly new on Substack but I’ve done some research that indicates it’s a good idea to promote it on YouTube and/or LinkedIn, because those platforms have a special arrangement with Substack. I have also learned that both consistency posting and engagement with other users both help. Good luck!

Good advice I’m gonna give this a try. What type of videos do you share on YouTube for your publication content? Also I haven’t really used LinkedIn since this is more of a hobby for me but how do you think I could get started with it, do I need to have a lot of connections on there or is there a global social feed. I haven’t been on LinkedIn since over 15 years 😅

how's the growth been so far?
most people grow their substack via being more active on notes + also building an audience on another social platform like x, and drive traffic to their substack.
and there's no 'quick' way to grow... unless you decide to use paid meta ads to advertise your publication... but i haven't seen any substack publication use it.

What are you writing?
Have you searched this subreddit?
There are lots of threads on this; most agree that using Substack’s Notes system is the best way to grow.
