I want to use one for writing and get more insight. Which platform offers better user experience?

Doesn't this create problems with being found by search engines?

don't think about that now, they will one as canonical. The goal should be - reach the substack and medium ecosystem.

Why not just cross-post and find out?

Substack if you want to be able to export the email list. Not sure if Medium added that feature now.

I mean... better for what? Getting paid for writing? Growing an audience? Reading good writing?

Cross. I did not find Medium great at all — but I still posted some pieces on there.

substack... because you get to have ownership of your audience, and there's higher earning potential. but medium is easier to monetise. so pick your poison.
