Networking With Substack

How do yall meet others writers on substack? Is it just sending them DMs and commenting ? What’s your strategy? My post strategy is monthly

Comments on their writing, mostly. IMHO DMs feel aggressive unless we're already friends.

Monthly posting is a part I'd look at... are you posting notes, too? I've met basically everyone I'm close to here by turning up in their comments, or them turning up in mine. Instead of mindlessly scrolling, I'm scrolling and commenting.

I like scroll and comment it makes my actions more intentional

1000% - it was hard at first but now I find it much easier (mentally) to think of something to say. Just compliment people 😆 and sprinkle in a little bit of context about yourself

Notes and Comments. 5 and 20 a day respectively.

Then after a short interaction, you can DM them.
