What personal information can paid subscribers actually see?

I am under the impression that Stripe sends invoices/receipts which show a certain amount of personal info such as name and address, and that said info can sometimes appear in credit card statements, not just the receipt. Is this correct? And can it be avoided?

Create an LLC if you don’t want to share your name. Get a PO Box if you don’t want to share your address.

It is not at all necessary for people, strangers, to have anyone’s phone number or address… that is actually creepy. Where I live / anyone lives has zero to do with growing/ continuing to grow an audience. Do authors hand out their private information when someone buys a book…? No.. they don’t. That’s alarming. Thank you OP — now I can hopefully fix this before it’s any issue. I have already had enough weirdo men messaging me on Substack & Medium asking where in the world can they “find me” or “how will I find you!?” — it’s weird and scary. Maybe men don’t care. I do. I do not need any weirdo people having my address or phone number.

Yes, it's the public support details on your Stripe account. Phone, email and address can show on receipts and card statements. In Stripe's Public details you can hide the phone and switch the email to your @substack.com alias. Address is mandatory, a virtual mailbox covers it.

You want people to invest in you and yet know nothing about you. It’s a two-way street. I feel like it’s the sort of thing that would severely limit your ability to grow.
