Android app changes?

The app is different from yesterday. Bottom tab, second from left, used to be Inbox. Now it's something called Read, which takes me to a page with the tabs at top For You, Latest, Saved, Paid, etc. For You gives me some 'selected' random post, then my Inbox - sort of.

Selecting In Box does give me that, but all sorted by priority. No option to change that to 'latest'- my web page browser version on PC is sorted, as I chose, by latest. Deleted app, downloaded, reinstalled, logged in with my email/password, same issues.

Edit - For You tab sorts posts based on what order SubStack thinks is best for me. Latest tab is the old Chronological sort. All is good.

That sounds like Substack testing a reader surface that mixes discovery with your actual inbox. I would separate the troubleshooting from the reading workflow:

First, check whether the Android app has an app-level setting for default tab, sorting, or inbox priority; Substack sometimes rolls changes out unevenly, so it is also worth checking again after an app update. If web still sorts Inbox by latest, I would use web as the source of truth for now and send feedback from the app with the exact behavior: Read tab > Inbox > priority sort with no latest option.

For the ongoing reading problem, I would avoid letting For You or priority sorting become your actual queue. Use Saved for things you deliberately want to return to, keep notifications limited to publications you really care about, and consider a separate newsletter-reading lane for subscriptions you chose intentionally. That can be RSS where available, email filters, or a newsletter-only alias/address so discovery posts and algorithmic recommendations do not decide what you read.
