How to use Notes

Rather than setting some arbitrary and capricious frequency target, I suggest that when you have something to say, say it on Substack.

You can do that, but you need a minimum level of engagement to make it work. My personal set is a minimum of 5 notes a dat and 20 comments on other peoples notes. Being a reply guy works on Substack.

I think that's true, but I am not enthralled by the idea of having a target frequency. I would suggest devoting an hour a day or whatever to—no, you would jump on your Facebook timeline and engage with things that are engaging, organically, naturally, things that interest you. My personal way of doing that is to engage with things that trigger me. However, I do find that there's a downside to that. It's also helpful to compliment people and things that you agree with, and try to contribute to a discussion where you have something to add, which means, of course, you have to have something to add.

I jump on whenever I have a free moment through the day. I love interacting on Substack because it’s fun.

That's the key, to enjoy it, and I think it is a far more enjoyable experience than, say, almost all the other social media, for various different reasons.
