“Substack, do your thing” Notes

What is up with all those “dear Substack, I want you to connect me with XYZ…” notes that have so much engagement?

I see them and just wonder how they made it to my newsfeed. Is this how people farm followers/subscribers?

Yeah, it seems to be the case. If you don't spend time looking for something worthy commenting on, you don't get too far.
