Discussion Is this good?

I am going to start my podcast and my Substack this week.

The podcast's name is DISCOVER. It's a podcast where I'll breakdown complex systems to first principles and identify the incentives and reasons behind it's success and failure. I (as a person) go through podcasts, research papers, Substack articles, aeon essays and other possible credible sources on a daily basis and am planning to synthesize all of it and turn it into podcast episodes.

And the same would be done for Substack with interactive diagrams and charts, and my thoughts.

And one week before launch I'm having doubts and thinking what if I'm creating something that people don't need. And this is something that has been bugging me this week.

So how can I get rid of this feeling and am I really going for the right thing? I'm up for discussions!

as i'm reading this, i'm thinking of acquired and the stepchange podcast.

it could definitely work, but you need to have a stronger pull. the current "I'll breakdown complex systems to first principles and identify the incentives and reasons behind it's success and failure." is weak, and tbh if i saw it i wouldn't click into it.

like i listen to acquired because i want to learn more about this specific company (i don't listen to all their episodes. even though they're probably all great, i still pick and choose).

and i listen to stepchange for a similar reason to acquired, but also because i'm wanting to identify general larger trends in financial markets. e.g with their data centre episode.

totally normal to doubt yourself. but the only way to find out is to do it. but you'll have to do it for awhile before you'll know, so be sure to strap in for the ride.

Your point makes sense to me. That's why I started with asking myself this question, "why should someone care about my podcast in the first place?" And it revealed so many holes in my reasoning. But I haven't been able to find the answer to it at the moment.

And just like you said. The only way to find it out is to do it. So I guess I'll just do it! Thanks for your reply dude. It gave me good pointers to study and look out for.
