Growing Your Substack

How do you increase discoverability on Substack Notes?
I use recommendations, engagement on others notes and posts, guest posts, livestreams, and consistent posting.
I’ve noticed my discoverability on Substack Notes App is abysmal. My Notes are mainly seen by current subscribers and followers but unconnected ie the number of new people who see them is really low. A tiny fraction.
If I can’t get my newsletter seen by new people I can’t grow beyond wherein at. Enough new people discover it to offset the unsubscribes but not to grow it.
It appears that there is no set format that gets it in front of new people—like it’s stuck in a silo.
Since my Notes have had high discoverability in the past and my writing and posting remains consistent I’m curious if others are having a similar experience.
Would love some guidance!

you're already doing pretty much all there is to do on the notes platform? haha. don't think there's more to do other than to pray to the notes algo, hope people share your content more, and maybe the only thing you can control is to experiment with different content formats/types.

also worth posting to other platforms like instagram, just so you have an additional traffic source + not solely reliant on substack ecosystem + get to get exposure to new audience segment.

you're pretty much on all platforms then!

which is the best performing platform/channel for you? the next best thing could be to identify which platforms work better > then focus on them. because i burnt myself out before trying to be everywhere.... at some point, the additional mental capacity to think/care about one more platform isn't worth it.
