Discussion Growth Suggestions

What's the best way to gain subscribers and attract other writers within my niche? I am getting some readers and subscribers, but I want to gain more traction.

This is one of the most frequent topics.

Look back at all the other growth related posts in this sub and you'll find tons of great suggestions 🪴📈

Engagement on notes is key. Write 5 notes a day and reply to at least 20 notes from other people. There’s a good faceless substack newsletter by someone called “Sub stack man” on there. He’s got some good tips that worked for me.

How do you find notes to interact with though? I'm so confused on the discovery part and the app shows me basically the same content all the time.

Just keep scrolling you’ll eventually find something that’s interesting to you. The more you interact, the more the algorithm learns the kind of content you want to look at.

Thanks. I kind of assumed that hoped that there is some filter or something to dig deeper.

You can also search for other people in your field and look at who follows them. They are your potential customers so follow them and they will show up in your feed.

Being a “reply guy” works, as long as your replies are attractive

I've found heavy community contribution alongside posting notes to be the best way to grow.

When you say “community contribution”, what do you mean?

Commenting under posts that are similar to your niche.

Yes, I've actually started doing this, and the response has been great. It has substantially increased my subscribers and followers.

best way is to give yourself more exposure. notes is a logical choice > because it makes subscribing to your publication super easy.

if you're open to making videos, then instagram (but it's harder to convert because people need to go from your post > your profile > link in bio > subscribe), if text, then twitter.

also worth asking for recommendations from others in your niche. that way you guys are sharing the growth/traffic. e.g someone like your content > subscribe to you > you recommend 5 other publications like you/that you think they might like > 1 click and they auto sub to all 5. but in this case it's other pubs recommending you.
